Somehow I selected text in the browser

so this was weird - this morning, i went to scroll the web browser, and instead somehow i selected a whole bunch of text.

there was no additional functionality like copy/paste/etc, and i could not replicate it by double-tapping or reselecting or anything. i've often wanted to be able to select text while typing in the address bar, but have failed so far until this accidental discovery. i imagine this is possible by connecting a USB mouse, but has anyone else gotten this to happen with their finger?

That is what happens about 90% of the time I try to scroll in the browser. It is an exercise for my patience whenever I use it.
