Is there any way to keep this on permanently? I have to turn it on manually every time I get in the car, while the rest of the climate controls are maintained from when I was last in the vehicle.

If you place something in the back seat, buckle the seat belt the Tesla may sense there is a 2nd row passenger.

Bummer, I only have kids in car seats so they must not be heavy enough to trigger it on.

Try turning on the rear vent and then saving your driving profile and also the Easy Access driving profile if you have set one up.
