Russian servicemen are stripped naked and put into pits for refusing to go into meat assault without proper equipment. To get out, they need to pay up 400k rubles. These particular men spent 4 nights in the pit completely naked.

This was revealed by the wife of one of the mobilised Russian men who ended up in the pit after refusing orders. The woman said they can be put there for no reason as well if the leadership doesn't like them.

Likewise, she said that to go on leave, one needs to pay the officers 200k rubles in cash. Otherwise, they'll never leave the zero line.

Has UKR finally received the GLSDB (ground-launched small diameter bomb)? "are being used tonight", as in have been used. But allegedly unverified.

The squirrel as my partner refers to him is a reasonably reliable source.

The timing was about right, several months ago they were saying deliveries of the GLSDB would start late this year.

Not many Russian Federation officers still alive. Huge casualty rates. The officers remaining must be trying to please higher-ups (money?), staying well back & presumably have little empathy with conscripts (who may not be ethnic Russians).

At some point, I expect a complete collapse.

Being in Ukraine, Shuster risked his life. However, his text says nothing about the Ukrainian people. The article is imbued with the feeling that Zelenskyy is waging war almost alone. It is not true.

It is ordinary people who are waging this war against a cruel enemy, Russia. My relatives, friends, neighbours are now at the front. They are real people, they are not anonymous, they give us a true and sincere interview every day.

Thanks for this. The idiocy of saying we should not be supporting a nation that is fighting evil because some there are profiteering is like saying the US shouldn’t have continued to fight hitler because some people in the US made fortunes off that war and we had corrupt government and military officials. There are fascist thieves in every country.

Possibility of more U.S. aid to Ukraine by end of the year:

Congressional leaders are hoping to muster a supplemental package to aid the war efforts in Ukraine and Israel, as well as make improvements to the U.S. immigration system, by the end of the year, according to multiple people involved in discussions...
...“My best guess is Israel is passed as stand-alone, and Ukraine done in tandem with progress on border,” said one GOP lawmaker who supports the contours of the administration’s aid request. “On the positive side, I believe the speaker wants results on Israel, Ukraine and border.”...

Congressional leaders are aiming to pass Ukraine and Israel supplemental aid before Christmas

What I don’t understand is… don’t these guys ever get the chance to kill their commanding officers?

We hear about blocking detachments who’s sole purpose is to kill retreating infantry; why wouldn’t infantry who understand who their real enemy is retreat making a beeline for those detachments while firing at those blocking attachments if they know they’re just going to die anyway?

If they turn on their officers and the blocking murder troops, then their families lose the sack of potatoes. Maybe Ukraine should promise any mobic who turns on the beasts threatening them, then they'll pay a large bounty to the soldier or their family.

What would happen if one side decided to sprinkle the other side with fentanyl pills?

Didn't someone here suggest planting slightly-drugged booz and stuff for the Russians to "find" so it wouldn't be obvious it was tainted and they'd keep drinking it? Say just enough to cause slightly erratic behavior, anxiety, sleeplessness or something? IMHO not doing this would be negligent on the part of Ukraine.

Posted yesterday, obviously filmed mid-Summer. Hence not news, even if true. It is transparent propaganda, an assault on the home front (gullible/easily deceived), not on front line soldiers. It will not make a difference in the outcome of the war.
I will never understand how, when these men are then later given guns to fight, that they do no turn those guns on the people who did this to them.

Perhaps in some instances they do, but the information never gets back to us?

Any disunity on Russian ranks is a positive?

Also, there must be relatives of these people who see this footage of their loved ones back home in Russia, which you would think helps seed some anti establishment sentiment? or at least it should!

You've answered your own question: mutineer's families back home in Russia get a visit from the FSB, and they're not coming over for tea.

Or if they do, don't drink any...

I second @Tiger 's thoughts on this. A lot of it is due to learned helplessness. The idea that they could turn their guns on someone who is Russian is out of their consciousness. The idea that something might happen to their family if they rebel might be on their mind too.

Russia has a culture of extortion and a frequent target before the war were conscripts in the army. But another place where people were getting fleeced was with what are called payday loans in the US. This scam is common in the poorer areas of Russia where a lot of the factories and mining facilities are. The cycle is people get strung out in debt with short term, small loans they eventually can't pay back. Then things get so bad they deliberately get themselves killed at work so their family gets death benefits. That gets their family out of debt.

Mobiks are promised that their families will get death benefits if they get killed. These benefits are up to a year or two's wages for the poor families back home. So they go marching into near certain death believing their families will get paid for their death. We now know the Russians have been slow to pay out these benefits and only do so if the death is confirmed. Because commanders lie about losses, a lot of the dead have gone unrecorded and officially are still alive in the Russian army. Some officer is probably pocketing their pay.

This lives for cash thing seems ludicrous to us westerners. Most of us value life over money and those who don't keep quiet about it. But there are documented cases early in the war when Russia was paying death benefits of families rejoicing at their financial windfall. There are also family members who are angry at Moscow for getting their family member killed, but the people who just want to be paid is disturbingly high from a western perspective.
