Rubber around trunk melting

My Model 3 was parked in sun yesterday for 2 hours in Seattle area (about 83 degree F), and I noticed the rubber around trunk melting. Has anyone else observed this?

That is interesting. Did you wipe it with a cloth to determine it that was actually the seal decomposing (versus something on the seal like soap form a car wash)? If so, any after shots of the deterioration?

I have not noticed this, and I live and work in Seattle area. My car is parked outside while at work. My car was manufactured in May. Yours?

If it was just heat I'd be somewhat surprised if the first report came out of WA. 83F is winter here.

We’ve had a week straight of 90+ degree weather here on the east coast and I haven’t noticed anything like this with my Model 3. Mine was built in March.

Had my car in 100F (as high as 113F) for the last week and a half - no ‘melting’.

I would be surprised if it was actually melting, or some sealant, as another posted.

I would think it would take more than 80-90 degrees to melt that stuff.
Did you wipe it ?
