Doing some maintenance and found this hitchhiker inside my rear rotor. I guess this is downside or not running heatshields? I’ll add this to my weight reduction count
Well with the heatshields they get stuck between heatshield and rotor, causing an awful grinding sound, and probably scouring the rotor if you keep driving in that condition.
Also, I had a rock wedged between my wheel and rotor hat. At least it was stuck solid and not rattling around like when a rotor retention bolt came loose!
