Rear end collision

I recently rear ended another car. I got no audible warning and the car did not brake on it’s own. No dashcam video was saved. I was distracted and did not think to save the recent video. Not sure it would have revealed anything regarding the lack of warning or braking anyway. Funny though many times while driving with cruise control on the car would brake for no apparent reason.i was going less than 10 mph and no cruise when this occurred. Car often gives rear end warnings that seem premature.
