Private Tesla Fastcharger? [Not quite a supercharger] This guy bought 2.

You get two 60 kW chargers for €60,000 - including installation.

Not really!

It's 60 kW shared across two charging stalls. It was mentioned that the Supercharger cabinet ran off of a 100A/400V, 3-phase circuit. That is only 69kW of AC power, so a total of 60kW DC out is very realistic.

60 kW shared across 2 charging stalls is certainly better than one 40-45kW CHAdeMO (maximum for an 85 Tesla), but not that much better for over twice as much expense.

Swedish Business Owner Buys Two 60 KW Tesla Superchargers

June 9th, 2015 by Christopher DeMorro

That prompted Swedish business owner and Model S driver Mikael Blomqvist to contact Tesla about buying some Superchargers to install at his business center. Electrek.co reports that Tesla sold Blomqvist two 60 KW Superchargers for his business center, which are only half as powerful as the standard Supercharger, but still faster than the Level 2 destination chargers at many hotels and resorts. If the 120 KW Superchargers can top off a S85 in an hour, then the 60 KW chargers probably take about twice as long, all the way around.

They need to offer this system to everyone, although it is not too hard to build a supercharger for about 35k with newish parts. Is there a market for that?

If one were made available by Tesla or another company, that would serve to benefit EV owners. Restaurants could install a few half-powered Superchargers (Midchargers?) and by doing so, attract more business.

I don't expect Tesla will look into a new product around this until after the third generation (350 kW+) Superchargers are launched.
