I've had my share of broken door handles (3 replacements at last count), but this appears to be a different issue: the door handle will always pop out and retract just fine however the door will not unlock 99% of the time. There is always a random time when it will open but it's stuck otherwise.
The mechanical aspect seems fine (ie the handle pops out and retracts when it's supposed to, it "feels" right", no loose part or wobble). So it seems be software issue, as if the door was not given the signal to unlock regardless of what the handle does/says.
As anyone else experienced that? (2016 MS).
