Yes. That would work just fine.

@andylyonette, you could ask the SeC to adjust the ride height in the rear.
Otherwise the wider tyres in the back (265 vs. 245) will raise the car 0.28" (7mm) on that axle.

Don't worry. The P+ suspension just has different characteristics for RWD models; some like them, some don't. The D models seemingly don't need those or don't benefit from them.
There were standard P85D models delivered with the 21" staggered wheels, but never with the P+ suspension.

Actually there was some overlap early on with wind down of P85+ and ramp up of the P85D production. Our 2014 Q4 P85D came with staggered 21" wheels and the PX01 suspension.

Good to know! The wheels for come with the pressure sensors; do you think tesla will sell these to me separately? From what can tell they come with the wheels if you buy them from tesla.

Yes, they will sell them to you. Or even install them, if you get the tyres and complete install from them.
Any professional shop can do that for you as well though, including the TPMS sensors.
(Ride height adjustment needs to be done by the SeC, still.)

Not to mention getting the elusive rear Next Gen seats as the cherry on top. We patiently searched CPO specifically for those early P85D's with PX01 package for over a half a year and were finally rewarded with our current car. Just like the odd-ball P85+'s with AP hardware, there are P85D's with the full sport suspension package floating around.
