Out-of-round winter tire package?

I had Tesla install their 18” winter tire package (wheels+Sottozeros) on my M3LR about 3,000 miles ago. They’ve never felt entirely right. It’s as if something isn’t round. It’s mostly noticeable around 30-40mph.

I should have complained right away, but didn’t.

My choice now is to either bring the car back to Tesla when it’s time to swap wheels and tires and ask them to check the winter wheels and tires or to take it to my local tire shop instead.

I doubt the local Tesla SC checked everything when doing the installation. I don’t know if involving a third party will help much if they conclude that a tire or a wheel from that package was defective, but I suspect they might be more diligent. And I don’t know if I have any useful warranty coverage after a season of use.

The first thing to check would be the balancing of the wheels+tires. You can get that done at any shop.

Why I only buy Michelin or Conti. Better chance of round tires.

But yes, first have the balance checked. Preferably on a Road Force machine. That will also tell you if they are out of round.
