Notifications way too loud

So whenever I get notification chimes coming across from certain apps, like the myQ chimes when the garage door closes, it's loud as hell. I mean so loud I almost yanked the wheel a time or two. The music could be playing at a quiet volume and the notification comes across blasting. I can't seem to find a way to lower the volume on them. If I go to notifications on my iPhone, I can turn the notification on and off but no volume settings. In sound & haptics, lowering volume means lowering my ringtone, etc and it's already at a normal level. I haven't found anything in the car to control it. Anyone experiencing this?

There is something called ‘Joe Mode’ that makes all these quieter.

Cannot remember which screen it is set in though so you would need to search.
