No crumple zone?

Looking at the front and rear gigacastings on the Sandy Monroe video with the 5 top Tesla engineers, you can see they have waves cast in to the front and rear mounting horns that are clearly progressive resistance crumple zones. In the event of a crash- the casting will need to be replaced. May be simpler and cheaper than you think. $100 to $150 worth of recyclable aluminum in the casting. Takes Tesla 3 minutes to cast one. Add the Tesla markup…say $1800ish for the front casting?

That's a solid guess. The structural Y & CT front castings are $1895. When you consider the warehousing and logistics involved, the price is extremely reasonable.
