From under the hood, if you remove the cowling over the fans, there's an access port in the side of the headlamp assemblies. Might be easier.

Just to finish out this thread, it is not easier, and doesn't provide decent access to anything useful. You can get decent access by cranking the front wheels all the way to one direction, then pulling the covers in the wheel well per other threads. No need to jack things up and remove the wheels.

I did this, pulled the high beam light, tried various ways to dry things out, and had zero success with getting the fog to stop. It only fogs on the lower edge, not obscuring anything, so I'm done mucking with it. (roadster 2.5)
