Why 40 lbs for premium interior?

I love the comments in reports and reviews and from people commenting on them who say that above 130mph the other cars pull away. Where do they do that ???
Where is the Max Power button? Is that something you've noticed only on your P90D? I don't see it on my P85D or am I just looking in the wrong place? Can you send a pic?I think you are referring to the Max Power 'button' that preconditions the battery and takes about 10 mins, iirc
It is under the slider for SPORT - LUDICROUS mode.
And new in version 7 of the firmware.
Andy, does the P85D have the Max Power as well? I heard rumors that it would but cannot recall if that happens to stock P85D's or those that will be Upgraded to Ludicrous Mode?
BTW, how is your Blue Beast running?
I am getting ready to order soon...
The options I am not getting are the rear seats and the Autonomous Driving Features... I can always add the latter as some future date but at this time cannot see myself using autopilot with the roads around here.
I recall you had your surface coated... how has that work out for you? Any swirls? Worth it in the long run?
I know you know this, but the Autopilot features include a lot more than the self-driving stuff. For example, unless I'm mistaken the auto high beam is an autopilot feature. Also the lane departure warning I believe is an autopilot function. Both of those are features you might find useful, even if you never use the main "let the car steer" function.
I did. Good memory!
I am happy with the Opticoat Pro. I don't think I have any swirl marks. I figured with what I paid for the car, the amount I paid for the paint correction and Opticoat Pro was a small price to pay to try to protect the car's finish a bit.
If you decide to go with something along those lines, my understanding is that finding a quality installer is key. Everyone says the actual product used is far less important than the quality of the installer.
Good luck!

Lane departure is considered a "safety feature" and is included on all (new) MS', regardless of AP functionality.
You are correct. I just went to the Tesla website to check. The following is from the website:
Safety
- Daytime running lights
- Available Smart Air Suspension for raising and lowering ride height
- Eight airbags for driver and passenger heads, knees, and pelvis plus two side curtain airbags
- Electronic stability and traction control
- Four wheel antilock disc brakes with electronic parking brake
- Front and side collision avoidance
- Blind spot warning
- Lane departure warning
- Parking sensors
- Speed limit display
Autopilot Convenience Features add
- Traffic-aware cruise control
- Automatic lane centering and changing
- Parking space detection
- Self parallel parking
- Automatic high/low beam headlights
I found it interesting that TACC is part of autopilot. I'm guessing some basic cruise conrol must come standard if you don't buy autopilot. At least I'd hope it would. But back to recommendations for Art, TACC is very useful, and you may find some real benefit in that.
I just paid the $3000 for the upgrade but it was not "a simple OTA push".Thankfully it's a simple OTA push after paying Tesla $3k for the trouble of doing so, so I'll eventually get my druthers. Heh.
