Model Y Came With Scratched/Etched Paint, What are my options?

Hello!
I took delivery of my Model Y on February 21st 2022. It’s black and had 15 miles on the ODOM. When we arrived at the showroom the car was being wiped down and the whole showroom was huddled around the car, they then pull it into the maintenance/detail area and started trying to buff out a few spots. They finally moved the car to the front and the showroom continued to huddled and whisper around the car. I finally approached and asked what all he whispering was about and my SA told me the car had “a few more scratches than normal” and “had probably sat around for awhile” then pointed out a small dent on the passenger A pillar. Other than that the car looked fine and figured I could get it polished out when I put PPF on the car. A few days later I go to get PPF and the shop tells me that the cars paint/clear coat is totally etched and defective doing a few test polish spots with no improvement and I should look into getting the car REPAINTED, telling me I should not PPF this car in its condition. I’m currently in contact with my SA and they are “getting quotes from their local shop”. I’m just curious if anyone has had a similar issue or has a idea of what I could do further. Maybe I should of refused the car but I never expected it to be this bad. I’ll add some pictures below.

Why was the car in the showroom? Don’t they have a designated delivery area?

They probably used a dirty cloth to wipe it down. I have seen dealers using the same dirty rag to wipe down multiple cars before.

I would like to have the benefit of UK based members experience with sorting out paintwork issues at or soon after collection with Tesla UK. ( I currently have a May to June EDD for a MY LR to be collected at Bluewater).

So, I was just walking the dog here in SW London and noticed a recent arrival a few streets away. The Midnight Silver MY LR was basking in the early Spring sunshine and she should have given me a warm glow but... it was covered in paintwork swirls a couple of which, at the top of a front wheel arch looked quite deep! My current car, like me is no Spring chicken, is pretty much swirl free. I am not sure, that after the wait suspense, I could handle a sight like that. I hear that my multi-coat red is particularly susceptible to the swirl.

I have heard stories of the cars being wiped down with a rag on handover day and based on what I have just seen, it must be true or could it have happened in China before the cars "set sail".?

Nobody would accept a car from a dealer showroom with such egregious insults to the the paintwork. But then, it would not happen.

So please, anybody who has had this experience with their new Tesla, did you find Tesla UK helpful or did you have to have paint correction done at your own expense? And, is there any way to reach out to the Teslaettes to stop them touching the car?

Of course, hearing about the "Cousins" treatment will be interesting but in my experience, no two ex USA country branches (of any business) behave in the same way as each other or as the mothership. The Germans, for instance will not suck it up and get on with it when it comes to vehicle quality standards. Who would when your local standards are set in Bavaria and Stuttgart; Battersea Benz and Beamer service however, may not be quite so faultless.
