Just thinking out loud - but later down the road in a couple years (or more), will older cars no longer be pushed updates? (i.e. old iPhone models no longer getting new iOS updates). I also have a model S that receives updates, but very rare to get one/not as often as the model 3.

I hope that does not happen, but it could be possible. Like an iPhone, iPad or iPod which has hardware that can't be used with the latest OS and then you're forced into buying a newer model if you want to continue with their ecosystem, the hardware in our current cars might eventually be outdated and not able to handle some of the latest software updates. But hopefully whatever functionality is left in the "old" hardware and software, is good enough to continue to be useful.
