Leather wrap for yoke

My yoke is peeling and it’s starting to annoy me. There are plenty of posts about the problem and the possibility of getting it replaced under warranty. I never liked the material anyway, so seems silly to just replace it with the same sandpaper vinyl.

Has anyone found a place that makes good leather upholstery for yokes? The aftermarket Tesla shops aren’t doing this yet, and the custom steering wheel guys aren’t doing yokes. I’ve even emailed a place that does leather for aircraft yokes! Has anyone found a solution?

6 months in, I still get excited every time I get into the car. But I would really like a nicer yoke grip.

@Hotboy408 did you ever finish this? I am on my second Yoke and warranty just ran out, so I might be looking to wrap mine soon since this one has a nick in it and it's starting to spread.

tesla service still says a new yoke is on the way. Will replace those with torn covers as a one time warranty item.

My hope is that the new yoke will have a horn button in the center.

No it won't have horn button for sure. Because in order to add airbag springs loaded require add more hardware and wiring, since that requires new contracts vendor produce new parts

Yes had it done long time ago. Alcantara
Never had problem again
