Yes, a dumb CC that worked when sensors are covered with gunk and didn't brake for an overpass shadow. Oh how I wish Tesla made both available and allowed you to simply choose which one to use, like other cars do...
So you can now select to use, non-AP cruise control (i.e. Dumb CC) where the Tesla uses no sensors and just maintains speed (on a car equipped with Autopilot)??? If so, that's very new and music to my ears.
Said you can use manual control. ie. no cruise at all if you wish. Another option is traffic aware cruise control. They do not offer Dumb cruise control. Gotta get a legacy ICE if you want that
Feds now require new production to offer additional safety featured like automatic emergency braking with most all cars. These are designed to protect drivers not paying attention to the road ahead. Unfortunately they also result in false positive alerts and braking. See this complained about in lots of other manufacturers forums...will get better.
Unfortunately Tesla still cannot do every possible permutation for every individual driver.
