How can I copy files from Tesla dash cam USB drive to my computer

I have a Tesla Model 3. I am trying to copy video files from the dash cam to my computer.

I took out the USB drive for the dash cam (from the glove box) and insert that to my Mac computer. But the computer does not see the usb drive after I insert to my computer.
I tried the same thing with a Windows laptop too. But it also can't see the drive.

Please tell me how can I copy the Tesla dash cam video files to my computer.

Thank you.

It works simplest on the Mac. On the PC, it could depend on your windows operating system, the file system type on the pc and usb device and security settings on the pc.

You basically just need to “allow” the Mac security settings for the Tesla usb device.

Then you might need a video viewing app, but that is another story.

Good luck.

No, the issue you are having is being too generic.

1) Is the usb drive formatted in the Tesla? An option under security I think.
2) have you saved any video to the drive?
3) can you view a video in the Tesla app or in the car?

Now if the above work, you have content stored on the usb drive…

1) what laptop? Pc, Mac, Linux?
2) can you search for the directory Teslacam?
3) Have you tried another usb drive to see if it shows up? Just a test for your computer…

It’s always more complex than one would like.

Good luck
