The new tread depth should be 10/32 (5/16). Hankook has a 30 day trial so if there's something wrong with the tires they say they'll replace them.... Tread Depth new is 9/32. ...
From their specs page:
- Tread Depth(32nds) 10.0

I got the diamond pattern. Damn. These make the MXM4 really 20 year old tech which they indeed are. What a ride!
Please report back with the grip levels in extreme cornering and braking! haha
Thanks for the input. What did you end up replacing them with?I had them on my Model 3 and returned them, thanks to the 30 Day Trial policy. The tires were good, if not for the fact that I had the Kinergy GT on my second M3 and these did not match up. The EVO AS has a fantastic steering response but then at the same time, it is whinier/noisier at highways speeds on weathered concrete roads, and which sadly makes up for most of my driving.
I went with the Hankook Kinergy GT H436. It is more quieter at higher speeds, and more comfortable. Thanks for the input. What did you end up replacing them with?
How are you liking the Ions?We are ordering from Discount Tire for my MX. I hope they are everything they say they are!
So far I like them! They are smooth and quiet. Efficiency seems to be improved, though I haven’t done the math yet. Overall I am happy with them. How are you liking the Ions?
Thanks for the heads-up. The purchase period is from 20-March until 21-May-2023. The iON rebate is $100.... rebate on 4.
After 38,000 miles on our Model Y, it was finally time to replace the stock Continental tires on our 19" wheels. As most tire companies have or are working on EV specific tires, I figured I buy the latest and greatest available, since there are probably new innovations every month.
I ended up ordering the Hankook ION evo AS SUV 255/45R19 from Discount Tire, and had them install it Yesterday. The price came out to $261/each with an online price-match, which is less than the OEM or Goodyear Electricdrive GT's.
The ride is so smooth and quiet! Think they're more comfort oriented than the factory set, but I'm totally fine with that. The tire noise is significantly reduced (too bad I didn't have a device to measure the before/after difference with!), and I highly recommend these just for that!
hmmm, doesn't bother us. We are looking at other things than the tires. But to answer the question, it depends on the specific sub-set of tires that are bought. It is not on all the tires of that brand. Why did Hankook have to go and put that ugly diamond pattern on the sidewall
Grip and steering response are good but not as good as my PSAS4. Rolling resistance, comfort, and NVH however are greatly improved over the PSAS4. I'd say the rolling resistance, comfort, and NVH is comparable to the OEM MXM4 but grip is significantly improved. No regrets on sacrificing a little grip for all of the comfort amenities. 3300 miles on the tires so far.Any comparison of the iONs 19'' to PS A/S 4 or Conti DSW06+?
Looks great in personWhy did Hankook have to go and put that ugly diamond pattern on the sidewall
Well, just to clarify your statement. The $100 rebate is not on all of the ION tires. The ION SUV version does not have a rebate, but the other ION AS versions do.Thanks for the heads-up. The purchase period is from 20-March until 21-May-2023. The iON rebate is $100.
