I thought so but everyday? Nah.... I even took the same destination post the school hours and it took me through the school zone....

in my case, it avoids the roads that are school zones during those hours when the yellow light is blinking

This is a great scenario. What would an AV do in such a situation?

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

This appeara to be so ridiculously political. The city is willing to identify its speed limits but does not want to play pass thr baton with the highway authorities. So they are not going to put themselves in a spot where they will speak on behalf of them to identify the highway speed limit.

Was the sunrise or sunset looking into the camera? That is the only 1 time I have had the devil red hands come up when I was entering the highway going up the ramp and the sun looking directly into the camera.

[idea for] Vision only+personal HD Maps, custom routes?

I have written about localization, which is essentially targeted to achieve the same/similar end result, and I believe 100% that localization is happening. I have many roads and intersections that are handled liked a tourist after every upgrade but within a weeks time, the FSD is able to handle...

    Hankook Ion Evo Summer Tire

Quick Update: The tires have about 300 miles on them and they continue the comfortable yet precision driving experience. The road noise continues to be the same no fuss no irritation no annoyance smooth buzz like white noise on all road surfaces. The range of the road noise is mid-bass and...

Highland suspension on 2019 Model 3

Good choice. The rear are what control the comfort. The front controls the feel and steering.

Highland suspension on 2019 Model 3

I have found the non highland model 3 suspension to be a lot more comfortable when your wheels are with smaller offset. Factory offset is +40. I switched to +30 and the ride is just a bit more comfortable and compliant.

Are Teslas talking to each other?

True. Adding more stops in the information process will only lead to more latency, as will adding more sensors.

Thanks. That would be such a better choice as there are so many more tire choices with the standard factory wheel size

Are Teslas talking to each other?

First rule of communications: Use of Unique identifier. This will allow every vehicle to identify the position of other cars in their vicinity. They would not need vision anymore as each one would be transmitting their GPS signal, in addition to other standard operating parameter and every...

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

Tsportline sells 20”x10” with 40mm offset for rear wheels. My rough calculation says that it is the same as 20”x8.5” with +20 offset as far as maintaining the outside track width from the rim surface. Am I missing something?

Are Teslas talking to each other?

My first car was the best. The harder I pressed the brake, the brighter the brake lights were. Unfortunately that feature was removed from the cars following for they went the route of relays and switches.

Are Teslas talking to each other?

In an ideal world, all these FSD cars talking to each other would be the best way to ensure that the intentions of each car is clearly expressed to others on the road. That being said, the reason I raised this topic is because I was driving on FSDs yesterday through the slow rush hour traffic...

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

Just got the Drag DR-83 18”x8.5” ET30 from Discount Tires mounted with Hankook Ion Evo Summer tires. These are as close as you can get to the uberturbine 20” performance wheels. Per my calculations, the DR-83 are 4mm less track width measured from external rim to rim surface.

    NEW Model 3 Highland review!

Agreed but it is still a change that can be easily implemented. Why? Simply because every other method simply becomes redundant. The stalks subassembly can and are easily implemented in the new steering column wheel because it is the same. It is simply an electrical signal switch and not a...

Couple of days ago, my order for the Hankook Ion EVO arrived at my local discount tire. Here is a picture of the Drag DR-83 18”x8.5” ET30 mounted with the brand new Hankook Ion Evo Summer tires. The second picture shows the effect of the new offset of 30 vs the standard 40. This is the original rim with ET30 mounted with Hankook Kinergy GT tires

Hankook new iON tire, an "EV" tire (not the same as Kinergy GT)

For sure. The online Customer service agent Jeff and the local store manager Vincent were absolute gems to work with. They got everything settled out on the purchase, exchange of rims, tires, credits etc in the morning and all I had to do was show up in the afternoon.

I agree with Elon on pretty much everything except this hire & fire approach. That is a No-No.

    Additional layoffs

As an employer, I would only hire for positions that were almost a lifetime requirement. Rest all would be contractors. I still think these companies are heartless satans who hire and fire rather than use contractors

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

looking at the calculations for the 20"x9" performance uberturbine wheels with 34 offset, and comparing it to this +30 offset for 8.5" wheel, both of them provide almost the same outside rim track width. Performance is 2.35 mm more. So basically, my 18" look is like the performance model.

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

Trying out these +30 offset 18x8.5” wheels. I feel this offset is so much better than the +40 when it omes to merging with the rest of the car flowlines.
