Geico & Windshield Replacement

Many insurance companies won’t cover illegal aftermarket parts. A windshield tint is illegal in California.

There’s only like 3 states that allow windshield tint and even then only 70%... so it’s not surprising they won’t cover that.

Just an update:

I got geico to cover the entire windshield at Tesla. I called a few Safelite and do not work on Teslas so Geico reimbursed the whole thing.

What they didn't cover was my $250 windshield tint... sighhh.

My State Farm agent will reimburse for tint when windshields are replaced.

OP lives in California.
I own a collision repair shop in L.A County. State Farm does not cover front door tint because it is illegal here.

Geico reimburse all the charges including labor which is way over $40/hour? I'm under the same struggle now as Geico keep mentioning about $40/hour which no way Tesla will charge at that rate.
