Eastern Oregon superchargers

Just pulled up Tesla's map and it looks like we have 3 of the five I am most anxious for in process - Pendleton, Baker City, and Boise. Haven't found any other details yet, but I am thinking this could mean that we are mere weeks away from those locations opening! Now, Come On Richland and Twin Falls!

I live in Boise, so I'll start scoping around to see if I can find out where it is.

Once future Superchargers are added to the "Coming Soon" Tesla map, how soon do they typically open? I haven't tracked a Supercharger opening for over a year but am keenly interested in the I-84 to Boise route. Could the route be open by mid-June?

Tesla did a major update to their Coming Soon pins in late December. In the three months after that, only 32 out of 62 Coming Soon sites had opened. Rural sites tend to get built and connected to the grid faster than their urban and suburban counterparts, though, so it's possible the route will be open by mid-June.

Sounds like WildHorse Casino in Pendleton will be getting five stalls. It appears the goal is to have it up and operational by the Pendleton Round-up, which is the second week of September. Bummer. I was hoping it would be done by mid-June.

the coming soon timing is all over the map (sorry for the bad pun). There have been "coming soon" locations that disappeared (Hermiston, though it now seems to be back on the list). The Coeur d'Alene charger was coming soon for like 6 months. Hopefully the SC team has gotten it down to a science now but it seemed pretty random for a long time.

Maybe we should find the construction site and see what the crew wants to make sure the install goes in ahead of schedule ;-)

They can't get it entirely down to a science, because they have to deal with different people and bureaucracies and businesses and utility companies everywhere. If you look into the delays and problems at each of those, you will find that it was a different thing every time that obstructed the process.

Wildhorse (Pendleton) opened 5/28 with 8 SC stations and Baker City has broken ground - I expect it will open in 3 or 4 weeks.

Just did a Wildhorse to Ontario at 65MPH in my S85 with 65 Rated Range and 76 projected range remaining on a 80 deg day. Should be enough to get to Boise. I use the Dennis Dillon Nissan on Fairview with my CHAdeMO adapter. That is 55 miles away. It adds about 150mi/hr.

With the electrification of hwy 101 on the coast, a number of folks are talking about locations in Eastern Oregon. I've spent a lot of time in the Bend area and have driven through most of the state on occasions through my life but I don't have enough familiarity with it to make suggestions beyond doing stations between Bend and Idaho and Bend and California. Thoughts?
