So I just upgraded the standard audio system for my 2016 Model S to a custom one designed by Audio Lab in Lake Forest, CA. Sam and team at Audio Lab built a Custom Sub enclosure with a Focal P25F 10 inch sub in the footwell. Since the footwell has a unique contour, we wanted to maximize the sub's total area without compromising the clean look. So they custom made the enclosure with fiberglass. Included is a bass control controller on the driver side, to manually fine tune your sub. The Mosconi amp is hidden just below for easy access and complete stealth.
In the front Audio Lab installed Audison APX 6.5 two way concentric coaxial separates (210W). For the backseats, passengers enjoy the Audison APK 165 two way (300W) speakers.
Out the door cost was right there with the UHFS. You can trim that price down by going with a few other speaker and amp options. They will work within your budget and show you a few packages. They know the Tesla configurations so it makes it a great experience.
If anyone is interested, Sam is working on being able to ship to anywhere in the U.S. The sound quality of this custom build enclosure is awesome! It has out performed sound checks with other Ultra High Fidelity owners.
