Completely random and probably covered elsewhere in some other thread, but…

You can upgrade a MYLR OTA to go from 4.8s to 4.2s 0-60 for $2,000 after you take delivery. Not great value compared to MYP, but anyone considering that?
2 grand so you can make a family compact cross over go a fraction of a second faster? Lol there are easier ways to throw 2 grand into the shredder

I would also rather spend my $2K doing something else, but in all fairness it usually costs a lot more than $2K to improve an ICE car by .5 seconds. From a performance standpoint it is a relative bargain really, but still slower than my previous S. The MYLR is plenty fast enough of a crossover for my needs, but at least Acceleration Boost option is available for folks and a better bargain than MYP IMHO.

Okay I’m a car guy , I realize along time ago you can’t expect none car guys to understand the feeling of satisfaction making your car faster . People asked why you need to spend more money on wheels and aftermarket performance parts . Then I ask why you feel the need to buy all those hats to cover up the bald spot and daily dose of viagra … 2 grand in the shredder ??? Who the f r u to judge what he spends his money on … and there are people actually like his comment ??? So toxic

2021.4.18.2 It’s “just” bug fixes…

Ok, that’s same version as me. I’m getting better at predicting autopilot behavior. I also have certain habits form my xc90 that don’t translate well to Tesla. Volvo’s system is very forgiving and lot less aggressive than Tesla.

I bought the Y without ever test driving one, never drove any Tesla before getting my Y. While waiting for delivery I was 100% sure that I was going to get the boost option. Now after driving it, I’m not so sure. I’m pretty sure I won’t be able to resist not getting it because I’m impulsive, but it’s so damn quick already. :)

Well, what a day it has been. My EDD for the May 24th booking showed Sep 15, and the demo car I snapped was scheduled for delivery on 06/25. But I was still contemplating whether to take a demo car with 700 miles on Odo and tesla saying that they will give the car as is, even if there is wear and tear and scratches.

At 530am when I was browsing the existing inventory, I saw a white MYLR with less than 50 miles on Odo and in transit in the bay area. I booked it right away (at this time I had three MYLR on my account). This was a brand new car with exactly the config I wanted.

I completed the profile in quick time, loan got approved. The Tesla guy called at 10 am and asked if I could take delivery today at 4 pm. I was there at 4 pm and a brand new MYLR in white was in my garage by 6 PM. Can't believe it.

I canceled two of my other bookings and would lose $200.

Thanks for this forum for providing great info on new inventory coming in.

I have to say, the wall connector is “meh” to me for the Y. I get 38 miles of range per hour on my NEMA 14-50 and 42 miles of range per hour on my wall connector at 48A. Not such a benefit for $500 plus install.

Now, if you compare to old tech like my 2016 X, it’s huge. There, the 14-50 gives 25 mph for range versus 44 mph on the wall connector. BUT - that’s because the old S and X cars had a 72A on board charger available, so it’s pushing way more power.

Seems like the charging is just way more efficient today. Were I driving a newer gen car only, I would stick with 14-50.
I totally get that. It’s completely a waist for the M3 SR+ since it only charges as 32amps. My old S was a must as well for the same reasons as you mentioned, plus I was driving it about 2-300 miles a day at times and the reduction in charge time was a must. Another big reasoning for me was redundancy and aesthetics. Obv. I got the signature edition for free so cost wasn’t an issue and install was easy for me. But the convenience of being able to always have my mobile charger in the car 24/7 is a big piece of mind, kinda like always having jumper cables and a hazard kit… a new MCK was the same price as the HPWC if memory serves. With the added bonus of it just looking so clean in the garage. So now that it’s time for number two it just made perfect sense to get the second HPWC so I can run everything off the same breaker and have them load balance automatically. I’d have to install a new panel to do two 14-50 outlets since they can’t load balance and charging two cars exceeds the limits on the 6/2 wires and breaker. Also, I’m out of spots on my sub panel already and it happens to be a 150 panel, meaning I’d have to upgrade the service to it to 200, so new wires from the main and everything. Huge expense and a $hit ton of work. So it’s worth every penny of the 500 for me in this instance LOL

Here she is! Was originally scheduled to pick up tomorrow 6/20 but with the heavy rains forecasted for the Atlanta area tomorrow, I decided to stop by the SC early this morning to see if the car arrived and inspect before the rain came through. I knew it would be tough to inspect in the rain. While I was there at about 9am this morning, a delivery specialist asked if I needed any help and I told her I was inspecting so that I could have a quick pick up tomorrow. She said the earliest they could do was 5pm which wouldn’t have worked for me, so I told her keep my 6/20 appointment. The car was dirty and still had delivery packaging materials on it. The panel gaps and paint were flawless. I left 30 mins later and once I got home I got the notice to sign the lending/financing agreement.

On the agreement, I had some confusion on the amounts so I called the 1888 number and they clarified and since I mentioned that I saw the car earlier the lady said I should be able to pick up today. Fast forward, the got the car prepped for pick up today at noon and it went very smooth. I am happy with the quality and most of the other Ys I saw on the lot were flawless as well.
As I was waiting for the temp tag, I saw a white model S Plaid getting delivered. Turns out it was the first plaid in the south east getting delivered. It was a nice couple with their about 2 year old picking it up and I joked with them that they now had no excuse on ever being late. It was a beautiful car!

As I drove home, I did hear a couple rattles that I will need to figure out once the rain stops. Overall, I’m very happy and despite the lack of communication it has still been the best delivery I have taken. My last car was a BMW that I custom ordered (8-10weeks) but the haggling on the price and financing experience were much more anxiety inducing than this Tesla experience

thank you guys for keeping me informed and entertained while I waited for my Y. I hope those of you waiting get yours soon and enjoy it like those of us who have taken delivery. It is worth it!

Gratz! Awesome combo 😁 I love the Red/White and if I didn't have two small boys I'd have gotten white myself but alas... LOL

Whats your VIN?

Did it a week after delivery. Not necessary… but… the my smile when I punch it would say it is totally worth it
Can you actually "feel" a difference? It seems like such a small boost that you wouldn't even notice. Did it change your top speed at all?

LOL I have totally been thinking of it! I just can't decide if its enough of a difference to notice and make me feel like it was worth it...
