Charge port lights... Dying again...

Well, I did fix my charge port lights with this one simple weird trick... I sold my S and bought a 3.

Sorry I don't have a better answer.

I'm told the issue is: design flaw allows water to get places it shouldn't. Which would not be a problem, however the water freezes and damages things... I can say there are fewer lights at the charge port on my 3. (and it's worked fine for 6 months).

They said mine was bad, it wasn't, it was v9. They charged me 600
I had changed it the night before (takes a hour) very easy.
The lights r saw driven. Board might be bad.
I have a Gen1 port I will sell for $100.
Are you selling the charge port, or the LED ring? On early cars without the self-closing charge port door, the LED ring is separate from the port and (the LED ring) is easy to replace. Pull out the trunk carpet in the rear wheel well, undo the bolts holding the charge port to the fender and pull it into the trunk. The LED ring is sandwiched between the port and the fender. Remove, unplug the 4 pin connector, and reassemble. Easy-peasy, maybe 15 min max once you get your tools together.

It's a Gen 1, big round magnet on left side
