CA DMV Approves Waymo's FSD!

If you can limit range to only a certain city or area, FSD is much easier than producing a vehicle than one that can go anywhere the owner wishes. Chandler Arizona is another area where some automatious cars are running around. That area is mapped to every millimeter, stop sign, speed limits, road striping and signal lights.

Tesla already has automated parts carts running automatously all over it's factories in Fremont and Sparks. They simply follow a painted line on the floor and they even plug themselves in when necessary.

First automatious vehicles will still have a auditor behind the wheel to document and take over manually whenever necessary. Same thing they do with airplanes. If the auditor is in the car, they will also be at the controls.

You beat me to the punch as it seems like nobody had posted it to Autonomous Car Progress. Not sure how this is Model X related and why this is in a Model X area.

I'd say Waymo is almost certainly WAY ahead of Tesla in terms of getting to level 5. Skim some of the later posts in the above thread along with Cruise Automation's efforts.

If you want to start somewhere, start from Autonomous Car Progress or Autonomous Car Progress. Skim the safety report that Autonomous Car Progress points to.

Yes, they stopped testing in Arizona because their car got into a crash when a human was driving it (not autonomous mode).

It is in a way relevant to Tesla because that is Tesla's ultimate goal too and with the latest V9 update for NoA having issues, it's good for Tesla to have competition so they up their game, more!

Source? They who?

It's not Model X specific but you posted in a Model X area. Posts like these should go in Autonomous Vehicles or under one of the threads there like Autonomous Car Progress.

Mods: Can someone move this out of the Model X area merge this into one of the autonomous vehicle threads?
