Sometimes I do miss my manual transmissions, though. Wonder if you could add a simulated stick shift to an EV...? :D
Shouldn't be too hard

1966 VW Bus Blue with Sunroof and 23 windows I picked up from the Wolfsburg factory when I was 5 (left for my sister)

Nice!

More generally, I am amazed at how many cars some of you have owned. For me, it's:
From ~2003: 1974 VW Bus (baywindow standard 'Kombi', with boosted disc brakes!)
From ~2009: 1967 VW Bus (double-door split screen with the new 12V electrics)

I am replying in anticipation, as I've not yet got my Tesla. Hope that's OK. Had just about enough crawling around on my back under a car, looking forward to the future - but I won't be able to bring myself to sell the busses, they'll still be needed for trips away.

Curious how people who previously drove BMWs, especially 3 series, like the Tesla M3 compared to their Bimmer? My current car is a 2011 335d with the sport package (not M). It's a monster, and I love to drive it. I haven't driven a Tesla M3 yet, and am currently awaiting my VIN after configuting 4/18. I'm just hoping it is as exciting to drive.

I had an E36 M3. My Model 3 (18" Aero) is more responsive but a bit less grippy on the corners. Pretty sure with better tires it would come really close.

Fellow Tesla enthusiasts,
I have a confession to make......please feel my pain!

I would NOT have bought my Tesla 3 LR if GM would have committed to build my favorite
Buick concepts all time....AVISTA
GM then decided not to produce this stunning concept and thus forever lost a GM loyalist!

Currently driving the model 3. It comes up short slightly in the fit and finish category but overall its the best car I've ever owned. I cant imagine going back to an ICE vehicle.

Going back from the present... All cars were bought used unless otherwise noted.

2006-2018: 2002 Camry
1996-2006: 1996 Dodge Intrepid
1990-1996: 1989 Oldsmobile Toronado Trofeo (dealer demo)
1985-1990: 1985 Chrysler Laser XT Turbo (dealer demo, twin of the Dodge Daytona)
1981-1985: 1981 Dodge Omni O20 Miser (new)
--------------- Everything above this line, combined, cost $2000 less than my Model 3
1980-1981: 1978 Chevy Caprice Classic Landau
1978-1980: 1976 Pontiac Ventura
1978-1978: 1976 Fiat 131S Wagon

So, yeah, delivered with 6.9 miles on the odometer, my Model 3 is the first NEW new car I've bought for myself in 37 years.

Ooh, wayback machine! I'll play!

Back in Europe:
1975 Fiat/SEAT 133 (mom's, a genuinely terrible car)
1976 Saab 96 V4 (mom's, now that was a cool car and I kinda want one again today)
1989 Peugeot 309 GT (company car, zoomy and a ticket magnet)
1990 Peugeot 405 Break (company car, nice spacious wagon)
1992 Toyota Carina (company car, yawwwnnnnnn)
1994 Renault Twingo (company car, weird but not in a good way)

In the US:
1995 Dodge Neon Coupe (kept 8 years, was actually reliable, but every mile felt like an implosion was imminent)
2000 VW Passat GLX V6 Wagon (kept 6 years, was just an excellent car)
2003 VW Jetta GLS 1.8T Wagon (still have it, 80k, fun and fast after ECU chip re-flash added 40 horsepower)
2006 Honda Odyssey Touring (still have it, 90k, minivans are awesome for basically everything)
2018 Tesla Model 3 (zOMG LOL i cant even)

Favorites in order of how much I enjoyed them at the moment:
#1 Tesla, duh. It's the day the original iPhone shipped and every other phone on the market turned fundamentally obsolete.
#2 Saab 96. Sure it was already old but it was fabulously eccentric.
#3 VW Passat Wagon. Switching from cheapest Dodge of the time to the most expensive VW of the time was fabulous.

Cannot recall exact years for some cars, but I owned and driven:
Fiat 550, Fiat 125, Peugeot 504 and 505, Ford Escort, Ford Taurus, Dodge Stealth, Nissan Altima Hybrid, Lincoln Mariner Hybrid, 2013 Model S, 2015 Mercedes B-Class Electric, 2017 Model S, and my current daily driver and favorite: 2018 Model 3.

Only my 3rd car...

1996-2000 - 1984 Camry LE (parents bought new, I got it in college)
2000-Present - 2000 Celica Gt-S 6spd - Still my present ride. I still love it, and as the first car I ever bought it's still sentimental. But 18 years is a long time and there are plenty of issues at this point although not many panel gaps :)

Model 3 LR in early June...the next 18 years?

In Europe:
1993-2000 -79 Vauxhall Cavalier (RWD)
2000-2002 -89 Audi 100 2.0 (RWD)
2002-2005 -96 Audi A6 2.6 V6 (RWD)

In Usa:
2006-2017 -06 Chrysler 300C 5.7 V8 (RWD)
2017-present VW Beetle 1.8T (FWD (yuck!))
5/23/18 -> Model 3 (RWD)

By far, by any measurement, the Chrysler has been both the most fun, and most reliable car I've ever owned. I'm expecting Model 3 to top that on the first category, and hopefully not too far on the second.
