A painful buying experience but the end result is a (-:
I Ordered the B.O.O.S.T. package from Sonic and the amp arrived with bent Gain/Freq. cut off knobs that are recessed on the amp, it did not affect the ability to adjust the gain just annoying that the amp was not perfect out of the box.
I let them know but did not peruse it as it seemed more trouble than it was worth
They also backordered the Lc2i interface a 2-Channel Line Out Converter that is needed for the install so I got one from Amazon.
The rep at sonic said they would credit $99.99 for the Lc2i I got $42??
The amp and wiring kit I had sent to my office but the sub box was also backordered so I had them send that directly to my installers shop (Off The Hook) unfortunately after three emails telling Sonic they had sent to my house they insisted that it was going to Off The Hook (I even sent them the UPS tracking but they still said it was going to Off The Hook)
The amp Lc2i and wiring was all completed and when I finally received the sub box I installed the sub, 30 minuets, two wires and a jack bolt….. easy.
The fit and finish looks factory top marks in that regard (the speaker grill is extra but needed).
So as for the sound, I am not a Rap guy but hell the car shakes with the volume at #5 and minimal gain on the sub, very impressive.
I am more of a rock guy and I need to tune the sub as it sounds detached from the rest of the system but I think with some tuning it will definitely complement the factory system (I have the Sound Studio Package)
As for Dolby Surround I was never overly impressed with the way it sounded, but the sub gives it a needed boost and offers a much fuller sound and again after I tune the sub I think that too will improve.
Bottom line this is not tuned to the car by any means (It just a Generic Sub in a box fabricated to fit in a Tesla) but all in all a definite improvement over the stock sound and a no brainer for those wanting a bit more oomph out of their system.
