Hi, quick question for you. I ordered on 03/06 but was limited by my employer to a RWD due to the LCT "Limit" ($64,741) as opposed to "Threshold" ($77,565) which are two significantly different values. I was under the impression the FBT promise would not impact the value of the vehicle at time of purchase (hence my rwd choice) but would be great for payments to my the lease and tax time. Did i stuff up and get this wrong?
Two different values. The Luxury Car Tax for fuel efficient vehicles ($84,916) is the upper limit for FBT exemption under the Government's proposed EV policy.

The Car Limit ($64,741) is the upper limit that employers can claim tax benefits as part of a lease agreement. Some employers with their lease agreements permit this as long as the employee covers the additional tax the employer has to pay. I have a lease quote for a M3LR, there's a ~$100/month additional levy in the quote to cover this.

Does anyone have a plausible explaination for why Sydney LR is overlooked atm?
This is based only the data that is public (which is an unknown sample size).
Tesla seem to have prioritised LR orders in WA/SA in order to get those vehicles on to a car carrier that meets a trans-shipping booking in Australia. After that only orders up to around 10 Dec have had a vehicle allocated. Whether they get more LR/P vehicles on to that carrier to service east coast later in December or January orders (yours and mine) is in the lap of the gods.

Morning Clara has been docked for a while now and still has the same draught as when it arrived. Must be some pretty light forklifts...

Many thanks for this! If you get a chance, adding a VIN column (just the first 4 digits of the last 6) would be greatly appreciated.

No VIN 😩😩

Looks like the Performance is going to take a few more months! Everyday I feel like I’m getting Bipolar… keep saying to myself… it’s not a necessity so it’s ok to be patient…. The next day looking at last year’s used models feeling like I can’t wait any longer and I’ll just spend an extra $10-15k!!! I know it’ll be worth the wait with the upgrades in CPU and other extra features… but from experience, the wait is worse than being pregnant for 9 months and just wanting the baby to come out!

It said last updated an hour ago so I'm assuming it's updated
I think it's something the crew needs to update manually in the AIS transponder (along with their next destination) and there wouldn't be much point doing so until loading is finished and they're about to get underway

The vessel’s crew is responsible for adding and/or updating information related to the specific vessel or their voyage. Such information includes the vessel’s name, type and dimensions, IMO number, relative position of the AIS unit, the destination, ETA, and draught.

Hang in there. I ordered my M3P on 6/11/21 with an 8-12 week delivery. It finally arrived 7-1/2 months later on 18/06/22.
Now I’m driving it, the wait is long forgotten.

Not sure if anyone else has theorised this yet, but here is my uneducated and unjustified opinion of why eastern seaboard vins haven’t been allocated yet/aren’t being prioritised.
I reckon they are making all the cars we need (or at least the bulk of them) but are only allocating VINs to owners who require a secondary transport service after they arrive in Australia and therefore need to be booked ahead of time.
The rest of us I’m major cities will get allocated cars once the ship has left china as there is time to manage the more straightforward delivery process. This would be consistent with the previous allocation process where cars are allocated once they have left china.

Wishful thinking or pure genius? 😉

I wonder if you are right, as our account page says an invoice will be uploaded *shortly* and that a delivery representative will contact us following this. So maybe they’re going to get the cars here then allocate.

I need secondary transport and haven't got a VIN.

Good thinking, Major city, i am sure us miners in Perth will have issue with that .....😁😁

Could be true, here's hoping. I'm clinging to the hope that (even) Tesla wouldn't assign vehicles to WA orders so far ahead of non-WA unless they have enough other cars (of required design) to roughly match the same order date range. I know we probably expect more of a strict first come first served than demonstrated by Tesla, but there must be some concept of fairness. Or not and in the next quarter there will be lots of posts hoping that Tesla catches non-WA states up this time.
