App Access after Model 3 Delivery

I recently received my Model 3 on Friday, October 5, 2018. In my account, the status still does not show delivered and therefore, I have not yet received access to my app. Anyone else recently delivered a car with this issue? I've spoken to support and my delivery specialist, but haven't gotten a good reason why. Just some technical issues with a number of vehicles they are not able to update the status for in their system to show as delivered and therefore the app is still no available.

I actually changed my delivery from home delivery to in store pickup and was getting the same delay for the app, assuming this was the reason. So i called my DS and learned something interesting. He said that there are 3 places in the system that all need to be checked as "delivered" for everything to go forward. I called the Tesla store, and at the store level- they showed the car as being delivered but i explained to them that there are 2 other places in the system that need to be marked as delivered for the account to update and for the app to work. They were surprised to learn this, so dug in and studied it and said that this was true and 2 were checked and there was one left to go.

Magically, when they learned that there were 3 boxes that needed to be checked, they fired off some emails or made phone calls, and everything instantly worked. You have waited long enough to go after some answers. Most get the typical wait 48hrs, but you obviously way beyond that.

I had the same issue after home delivery of my Tesla. I talked to the service department at the service center who prepped the car and also the mobile service representative who said he would send a message to the person to take care of it. After 4 days without access, I called the main Tesla number and they connected me to someone in sales at the location that prepped the car. He took down my information and said he would have the delivery people get it fixed. 15 minutes later, I have access. Bottom line if this happens to you, try contacting someone in sales or delivery at the location that prepped the car for a faster fix.

Can you do anything with the app prior to delivery? I've seen some posts that seem to imply you can watch the videos and other things without actually having taken delivery yet. I will say I just ordered yesterday and only got my VIN this morning, so maybe I'm being a bit premature ...

Yes I was able to watch videos and see my "loot box" for a long time before delivery. But I've had the car for a week now, I assume I should have full access to my app by now.

Mine worked for a few days after I received the car and then it stopped. My account status changed from delivered to to waiting for delivery. If you look around the website you'll find somewhere that the app will not work unless the car (or Powerwall) has been delivered. I contacted the delivery center and it took a couple of days for them to catch up (first week of Q4) but they texted me it was updated and the phone app was again working. The cards worked regardless. Another reason why I want the FOB.

I was eventually able to get access once I spoke to the delivery center. They had quite a few places in their system that needed to be updated saying my car was delivered and my trade-in was accepted. Logistically, everything had been completed, but they needed to update their system. I'd recommend skipping talking to support and going straight to the delivery center for details, if this happens to you.

I seem to be having this problem, Tesla service/delivery doesn't seem to have a clue, I have been going back and forth with them for 4 days now and only getting rookie questions like did you try to reinstall the app, do you have the correct app, is mobile access enabled...

I picked up the car last Friday, the delivery status in my account on the website never changed, today (7 days after delivery) it still says I will be contacted for a delivery date. The app was working fine the first few days, and then on Tuesday (4 days after delivery) my car got disconnected from the app.

I'm guessing they have some override during delivery which allows the app to connect, and while you drive off they can finish your account/car status later and they probably forgot to finish mine correctly and the app reverted back to not delivered.

I just found this thread now and will contact the delivery department first thing in the morning, will post an update later...

Hi

I took delivery of my model 3 yesterday, 27th of March 2020. The app was working fine. I logged out of the app and logged back in again only to find my vehicle was no longer in my account. Does anyone know how to fix this please?

Thank you

every once in a while tesla has server issues. try logging out again and waiting a few minutes and logging back in. If that doesnt work, you can try logging out and deleting the app (just to ensure there is not corrupt data) and log back in. If that still doesnt work, the issue would be on tesla's end and you would likely just need to wait a bit.

All the above advice is based on the fact that you said the app "was working fine" for you previously.

Thanks very much for responding. I had already tried everything that you mentioned above. I did also send an email to Tesla at the below addresses, I believe it may have helped assuming it was an account issue there end. FYI, emails addresses used just in case anyway wants them:

[email protected]
[email protected]

As you say, it might just have been a glitch. FYI my other app "Commands for Telsa" also reported, no vehicles in account so probably just a glitch.

Anyway, thanks again for responding.
