I wish I could modify the battery mileage, especially for winter.

I understand the marketing value, but post sales it would be useful for customers.

EV Trip Planner is a 3rd party website that allows entering Car Settings that let you enter items such as exterior temperature, wind and payload weight. Unfortunately, it doesn't have all of the Tesla models listed yet - such as various X configurations or S 100D - but it still can be a useful tool in planning a route.

A Better Routeplanner now also lets you input exterior temperature and headwind. Although he just added it, so it may not be fully refined yet.
