Model Y HEPA filter and heated steering wheel?

I read that the heated steering wheel is also coming to the 3.

FIRST car wash = ruined tail light

Common issue on Model 3 as well. If it doesn't dry up service center will replace them but more than likely it will happen again. If you don't want it to happen at all take the tail lights out and try your best to seal them up with clear silicon.

Should I buy a Model 3 or wait for the new vehicles with the new battery technology

I highly doubt that any "new" battery tech will make it into the current line up. Maybe when Tesla refreshes the Model S and X those may see some new battery tech. The CyberTruck and Roadster might see something new but again with the deadline for release coming up soon new tech would need to...

    Self installation of a PowerWall

So I am sort of in the same boat, I have heard that Tesla has stopped installing in Minnesota. What I would like to do is procure a few powerwalls and gateways myself then go about getting them installed and setup and finally letting Tesla know to add them to my app. If they say no way since I...

Model S: Incredible benefits of Autopilot.

You could try comma.ai, much better than legacy manufacturer LKAS but not as advanced as Tesla Autopilot.

Something sprayed on the windscreen after SC visit...

If you have paint thinner you could try a tiny drop of that, let it sit for a minute and then wipe away. MAKE SURE NOT TO GET IT ON THE PAINT!!!

CPO Model S - Question About What's Missing in Phone Area

Check this video out, I think you can get it as an accessory.

Rear defrost strips falling off window after 17 mos. Tesla wants $820.

Have you already spoken to them about it or are you going by the pre-visit estimate they send you before they see the car. Once you are at the service center that's when they will decide if it is covered under warranty. I have no idea why they use a pre-visit estimate it always leaves people in...

My model S seems out of commission

Take the wheel off and get the rock out between the rotor and brake shield.

Audio menu bar no longer offers USB as an option

Unplug the drive, reset the car, and then plug back in. The USB option won't show up if it's not able to read the drive.
  12. N

Can you think of a reason why.....?

Not sure about the model S but the model 3 the high voltage plug is under the rear seat. Pretty easy there are videos on youtube on how to do it.
  13. N

Can you think of a reason why.....?

The same thing when you pull the plug on a computer and plug it back in. It power cycles the computer.
  14. N

Can you think of a reason why.....?

The random nature also suggests a loose connection. Not sure how "handy" you are but I would try to inspect the connection at the switch considering for me the closest service center is a 90 min drive I would try that before making the drive.

Yet another item to add to the list: door seals leak

This was a common problem in the Model 3s at first but they changed something in the seals for later build dates and it got slightly better but by then everyone just took for granted the accessories that were a must have for new cars. Should Tesla have improved the seals, yes, did they nope not...

Yet another item to add to the list: door seals leak

Get the door seal kit off amazon, cheap and easy to install. They keep the door sills nice and clean, should work for you.
  17. N

Can you think of a reason why.....?

So another thing that I do that I haven't seen most talk about is how power cycling the car clears up these phantom bugs or glitches in the code. The car is basically a computer so every now and then it might need a reboot, I always do it after an update. To be clear I am talking about...
  18. N

Can you think of a reason why.....?

Have you tried resetting the car? Maybe if that doesn't work ask service to remotely reset it, start a service request and they will try to diagnose it remotely first.

You painted them black or silver?

Floor anchor point for a rear-facing infant seat

In the US a floor attachment point is not required for a rear facing seat, first time I am seeing something like this. Also with how tight you fasten down a child's seat there is no risk that the seat would rotate back.
  21. N

    Snowtrips in the Model3

Use the seat heater in place of the in car heat to save some energy, seat heaters use a lot less juice. If the roads have any snow at all on them set you regen to low, you will fish tail. Other than those two things the Model 3 is great in the snow and with winter tires it's even better.

Alignment issues - shop at fault?

I would contact a service center to see if that's true.
  23. N

What have you done to your Roadster today (or lately)...

That looks great. Can you post more pics of your CF projects?

    Heated Steering wheel

As long as you preheat you won't miss it too much, but even if you do forget the car warms up pretty fast so you won't be cold for too long

Flat Tire Repair Kit from Telsa

I repaired my first puncture this weekend with a fiber plug kit that I had. What happens to the foam on the inside? I am so curious I painted the tire on the inside so I know where the puncture was. When I need new tires I'll find out!

Flat Tire Repair Kit from Telsa

Yes, I would take jack pads with me. 13psi yikes that is low! I have a small compressor from Harbor Freight works great, just don't use any of the fittings. Pick up some nice ones from a big box store the HF ones leak no matter how much teflon tape you use.

Flat Tire Repair Kit from Telsa

Have you tried a local tire shop? If you can't find the leak I don't think a Tesla branded repair kit is going to help.

Model 3 door seal kit - road noise reduction?

I did not notice much change in noise however the door sills are a lot cleaner You still have to run over them with a soapy mit when you wash your car but they are noticeably cleaner.

Installed my tablet on a dash mount

The fingers on the mount kill the look of it, try to come up with a magnetic mount to clean up the edges. Do you leave the tablet in the car all the time?

    2020 Honda Accord

Honda's lane keep assist is no where near capable of what Tesla's autopilot can do. However I have an '18 Odyssey to compare to, maybe the civic and accord LKAS is a little different but I doubt it makes the jump to what Tesla offers.

P3D- Putting the feelers out there

The Gen3 cord is lighter than the Gen2.

Cover for Heatpump to reduce Noise

I'm sure service centers will be able to install the cover once they get the parts. However I do not think it will be for free, but we can hope.
  35. N

Want to install new Gen 2 HPWC. Top/bottom mount needed for over 60a?

Are you installing it yourself? If so, I would just plan to install both ways, try the way you mentioned above if it doesn't work then you really have no choice. I installed my HPWC with 4 awg wire coming up from the bottom, I will say with 3 awg wire I would come from the bottom not the top...

    Heated Steering wheel

What commands do you give to siri to connect to the car, I am an android user thinking about switching if the iphone 12 is a big jump.

    Heated Steering wheel

Model 3 owner here, picked up my car in Nov of '18 and have been waiting for a heated steering wheel. I believe Elon tweeted that a heated steering wheel for the 3 is not in the works. I doubt one is coming for the Y if it didn't already come with one.

Looking for previous owner of Tesla 3

Not sure if you are being serious. But did you see the car? It has red wheels! This was the first car I have seen with red wheels!

Turn down the heat, the heater is the greatest way to reduce available energy.

    2020.8 Bluetooth glitch

One solution is to "tie" a paired media device to each drivers profile. They were able to tie phone key and drivers profile together, Tesla needs to take the next step and complete the triangle.

    Model Y Launch/CoronaVirus/Likely Recession

Those vans last forever if maintained. I had a 2000 Honda Accord V6 that had over 300K miles that I sold after I got the Model 3. Your van has the same drivetrain as my old Accord. Only thing that could take it out is rust. Good luck!

    Child Seat Indents

Hello, fellow Minnesotan. I bet once it warms up those indents will get a lot better. If you want to speed up the process a bit try turning on the rear seat warmers for that seat. I had a car seat installed for a few months as well and once removed the indents improved.

    Worth Filing Police Report?

That happened with me, the other car had the wind take their door and smash it into my car. It tore the PPF but saved the paint but there was a dent. I had the PPF removed, paintless dent remove the dent and he went around a took care of another one I didn't noticed, and new PPF installed. The...

    Can anyone help?

I would try a hard reset, hold down the brake pedal then push down and hold both steering wheel nipples. Once the screen goes black let go of everything. YouTube has videos on how to do it if you need more guidance.
