Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
Oakville was positively stuffed with cars when I was there around 2:30. I was picking my Model 3 up from service and they were putting new cars to be delivered anywhere they could possibly fit!
I drive 160 km / day and my power cost is about 2x what you quoted with delivery, so the net difference is a bit more.
Overall for me it’s two things: 1) a bit of waste not want not - I’ll still use AC to be comfortable but turn it off when not needed and 2) more importantly I know that if I’m...
My same drive tonight with AC on was 138 Wh/km vs the 114 yesterday. That said it was a bit wet for the first while so that may have been a problem too. This is definitely not an exact science.
I think it eats a good amount of energy. Not near as much as heat, but still significant. I’m going to compare with AC last night vs tonight. My drive home is more “downhill” and I did it without AC and measured 114 Wh/km. I didn’t deliberately slow down or hit much traffic either. It’s not...
Based on what I saw on my drive home tonight I need to pay more attention to when I do/don’t need the AC on. I haven’t been very diligent on that front and it seems to make a big difference.
I think I may be the least efficient of the group so far! I’m at 165 Wh/km and I’ve left my Aero covers on since day one. So far I’ve logged 10,200 km including a roadtrip to Tennesee that we just came back from.
I use Standard regen, but no Chill mode for acceleration. I don’t precondition...
Hi all,
One more point that may or may not be helpful is that when I took delivery at the International Centre at the end of May, the person who signed my paperwork on Tesla’s behalf had to be OMVIC certified and needed to put their OMVIC number on the document.
I was all ready to black my 3D logos out with a marker too, but once I put the mats in it wasn’t a big enough deal for me to even do that. I do like them a lot though!
Good to know. I was starting to wonder if it was something to do with my having to put a windshield stone chip claim through and whether or not they could change the model until that was totally tidied up.
Maybe the new Cabin Overheat Protection feature? It does default to on - i.e. it will turn your AC on to keep it at or below 105F. You can either turn it off or tell it not to use AC. It’s under the gear on Safety & Security.
It’s probably a want more than a need. With no fingerprints I don’t need to wipe it at all. I do like the way it looks a bit more matte with the protector on too.
Is anyone else with TDMM still listed with a faux Model S? I don’t mind waiting a few more months for them to remember to call me and raise my premium, but just curious.
Yeah, I had already talked myself into doing the wet install route for the centre console wrap with the xpel matte. So when it came to the screen protector it was more of a “why not go all in?” kind of thought process.
I think most people with either of these have had pretty good experiences. I have the RPM one that’s made of 3M film and I like it - it reduces fingerprints and isn’t overly glossy.
Yeah, about half my drive is on 400-series highways and the other half is secondary highway, so the efficiency I’m getting is probably not as good as a lot of others. Ah well - still much cheaper than $1.30/L gas!
Wow I wish those were my numbers. This is me before and after gaining a Model 3 that I drive 160 km round trip when I go to work. As mknox said, I’m waiting/curious how this will pan out with all the delivery/regulatory charges when I get my bill.
That’s pretty scary when something like that happens! I had just run my 3 through the touchless wash, was back on the QEW for like 2 mins and then there was the spider crack. It wasn’t even that loud. Gah! Got Speedy to fix it as best they could this aft though.
I just got a stone chip on my windshield this morning. Does that count? :(
Oakville fixed my brake pad clips a couple of weeks ago, but otherwise it’s been pretty good.
I do lose LTE around the Burlington Skyway pretty frequently though.
I hate that the glass roof tint is so dark. I would love if it let much more light in and had some kind of built-in shade if you didn’t want all the light all the time. I would let much more light in 95% of the time.
I’ve found it works best to use voice control- click the right scroll wheel and say “Play X song by Y artist”. With the search I was always getting what you described, which was really annoying!
Huh. I even took mine into the US and didn’t feel like it had any more issues with hanging onto the “old network” before picking up the new one than my iPhone.
Hope your experience improves soon, whether or not it’s the new software that does it!
Maybe that’s the difference - whether or not they can give you the full 90ish day notice window. I had my renewal notice for other vehicle plates for a week or so before getting the new green plates.
They actually told me this at my delivery. Apparently some people who opted out and had early deliveries weren’t putting their plate on within 7 days (which I guess was part of the deal).
Maybe we were all mistaken - does Full Self Driving require someone to actually be in the car? Maybe it’s already being tested when we least suspect it!
Take heart, guys - the wait will be over soon!
I just saw my first extended sighting of someone driving another 3 this morning on my commute up Hwy 6. It was a beautiful MSM - great to see one driving up close!
I did not have my application signed by Tesla and submitted it first thing the morning of May 31st. The autoreply says “Should you require a response, you will be contacted within 1 business day” and they haven’t sent me anything, so...
Hopefully they accept the form you have since this is the verbiage on their web site, emphasis mine. The Tesla people seemed to like it when the CIBC form said something similar.
If you don't have a cheque
If you do NOT have a cheque, you can locate the account information you need in...
I’m not sure what to tell you.
Do you have an option to generate a faux void cheque in your online banking? The Tesla people at the IC seemed to think some people could do that.
They should be okay with the standard TD pre-authorized form, but they didn’t like the wrong address being printed on the void cheque from what I understood. Also the guy kept saying I should have an option in my online banking to print a “void cheque”, which doesn’t exist for CIBC. If you...
I think you have a typo on the email address- it’s just [email protected] (no s at the end of vehicle). Also my autoreply went into my junk mail folder, so watch for that possibly happening to you too.
Wish I’d known this beforehand too. Our kids (6 & 8 years old) spent hours messing with the easter eggs and music in one of the demo cars. Extra food would’ve been a major plus.
They told me yesterday that the police were having issues with some of the early deliveries not putting their custom mounts on within 7 days (which was apparently part of the deal in leaving the front off). Once that happened Tesla started putting the standard mounts on all of them.
Insurance info was just fine - no issues whatsoever. My delivery experience was much longer than I anticipated, but I did get out of there finally with an amazing car!
