    Lowering the Model 3

This may be a dumb question @Vegan Pleather, but are the P3D springs compatible with the LR Model 3?

Model 3 WiFi Connection [Unable to Connect]

Just wanted to say thank you. I Have an Eero as well and I thought that the LG innotek was the Model 3 but wanted to confirm.

    Does anyone else's 3 whistle?

Possible it’s a retainer clip dragging on brakes. I had that issue on a 125xx VIN. Was an easy fix but it did make a high pitched noise. I only noticed at low speed when turning left.

3 Car Seats in Model 3?

You can but they all need to be in five point mode for it to work. There isn’t enough room for a kid to use the cars shoulder strap in booster mode

Cleaning the seats - what product

What is the actual fabric that the car uses? Is it Ultraleather Matte in Caviar? If so, here are the detailed specs for it, which some might find interesting. That fabric is tested to 100k + double rub abrasion testing. For some context, anything over 50,000 double rubs is recommended for high...

Cheap DIY Paint Protection Film Project

Where did you get the kit and how much did it cost?

    Weather Radar/Satellite/Temp/Wind Overlay on Map?

This would be great. For road trips in particular I'd like to know if I was about to drive into weather.

3D Maxpider Kagu Mats for Model 3

@partcatalog sorry to clog your inbox, but I ordered on 5/11 and did not get any updates. Note I'm not complaining but wanted to point it out in case you had a message you thought went out but did not yet do so. Thanks again for staying on top of this here. I'll be happy with the original...

Using Butcher Block Conditioner on the Wood Trim.

We have walnut floors and used Waterlox Tung Oil. It’s a penetrating oil that also protects, but I worry that it would look too finished, even with a matte. This looks pretty nice though and it seems to me that thin veneer could dry out over a longer period of time.

At car wash, how do you avoid charge port opening?

If you have a garage you can use a couple of buckets of warm water and Optimum No Rinse in your garage. I wash this way in the summer because it’s in the shade. CarPro Eco is another product for rinseless washes: Video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sCjRhlUw99o I really like Opti-seal as...

3D Maxpider Kagu Mats for Model 3

@fseir I personally don't like the weather tech logo either. I don't mind something subtle that matches the car, but I want something as integrated as possible that is easy to clean. I wish 3d MS offered a color matched black button to use in place of the logo. Either that or a giant polo horse...

3D Maxpider Kagu Mats for Model 3

Thanks. I ordered on 5/11 so it makes sense that it would ship later. @partcatalog in your earlier message were you saying your 5/25 ship date still holds? From an earlier post it sounded like you were trying to get all of this batch's orders out this week. We have a road trip on Friday of next...

3D Maxpider Kagu Mats for Model 3

So if I got an order in last week it should ship this week? What's typical time for delivery to the Midwest?
  16. P

Simple Question. Better to Charge to 80% or 90%

My issue is that I live around 230 miles from my nearest super charger and my parents live around 350 miles away. In an ICE if I needed to head somewhere in a hurry I could just take off knowing I could get fuel anywhere. With the model 3, I feel like I need to have close to one SC distance away...

Elon says AWD and Perf orders start at end of next week!

For what it's worth the Model 3 has better ground clearance than my Audi A5 S-Line did.

Have you looked at SmartPost for shipping? It might be less expensive. How much do these weigh?

    Enhanced autopilot - worth it?

I would recommend it if your driving patterns are in its sweet spot. I have a 30 mile highway commute and it goes exit to exit for me, which feels both more relaxing and safer. I have only done one 6+ hour drive in it so far, but I was able to do 80% of that on AP and did not feel fatigued at...

    J1772 Tesla adapter

Hey there I might be interested if it is still available. Do you know if it works with Greenlots J1772Combo chargers?

Please help me understand the Delivery Estimate webpage

It was spectactular, I just spent too much time looking at all objects as things that could kill dragons :(. The pic brought a smile to my face though.

Please help me understand the Delivery Estimate webpage

Just wanted to let you know that I really did not appreciate your sharing a spoiler in a totally unrelated forum. I know it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things but it seemed really petty to me and definitely affected my viewing of the show. Please be more considerate next time.

Blog The Model 3 Needed New AP Hardware, But Not For The Reason Everyone Thinks

I suspect that Tesla will assume the liability and insurance costs in exchange for their part of the share of the revenue (guessing 70% to owner, 30% to Tesla). Transport taxes will be local, but municipalities would be crazy not to want these cars everywhere as making accommodations for cars...

Blog The Model 3 Needed New AP Hardware, But Not For The Reason Everyone Thinks

If ride sharing works as Musk has contended, then a different way of thinking about the car is that once it has depreciated to whatever point you are comfortable, you can put it into service rather than selling it. IF these cars work as intended, then they should be able to go out and make...

Better car/options for my $45K challenge

For sure there are a lot of reasons to be skeptical. But LCD TVs replaced CRTs in about a decade time period and that was only driven by experience, not economics. Seba's argument is pretty reasonable to me - at some point people will realize that ICEV are not the way of the future and they'll...

    That's true.

Better car/options for my $45K challenge

Have you read or watched any of Tony Seba's predictions on what will happen to ICEV? His theory basically goes like this: 1. Autonomy + Electricity enables self driving uber / Lyft in 2021 or 2022. 2. The cost per mile of autonomous fleets should be less than owning a gas vehicle, even one...

    Non-Tesla lease

Another interesting possibility is a company called IncentiveLease (incentivelease.com), who is looking to facilitate person to person leases on the Model 3. I'm not affiliated with them in any way, but I do have an extra reservation, and I'd be tempted to lease my second one at the right price...

Better car/options for my $45K challenge

Replacing my Audi A5 (15k miles / year) with a Long Range Model 3. We take my wife's Acura MDX on road trips to the tune of 6-10k miles / year. So we'll end up with around 25k miles / year on the 3. Electricity is cheap where we live (~$0.06 / kWh). We'll save around $3k / year on gas and...

Model 3 Rear Window: Only Partial Tinting

I think if you tinted to the beam above the backseat, the gradient would not look bad. There wouldn't be an obvious seam really, it would just be a bit darker above the backseat passengers than it was above the driver. If you really wanted to you could tint the middle glass piece as well to...
