Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
I downloaded this update today.... it's just improvements to parallel parking and auto display. Didn't notice any difference in driving, everything worked well.
Got 17.26.76 about 10 days ago on our AP2 MX100D. Car built in March 2017. Drives great in auto steer, both freeway and surface roads work well and car is centered in the lane. Perpendicular parking worked perfectly. No issues so far. Looks like all the bugs have been fixed since this update...
Anyone got the 8.1 software update today? I heard it has auto steer to 80 mph, auto lane change and summon. Still waiting on mine to show up... so excited!
It took about 150 miles for our adaptive cruise and auto pilot to kick in. First indication that the cameras have calibrated is lane markers appear in the dash.
Yes, when we picked up our car last Thursday at the north Houston delivery center, we filled out the paperwork for them to do the registration and get our license plates.... big relief not to have to go to the courthouse and stand in line there for hours!
One of the FOB's had a bad battery and stopped working the next day, but the service center was very helpful in getting it replaced ASAP. Car is amazing, with adaptive cruise kicking it around 150 miles of driving. Auto steer works great at 55 miles, but could not test it too long for fear of...
Yes, we got lucky, including the EPA hold release, which was a lot earlier in Texas than the rest of the country. The wait is certainly hard, but think of the amazing car you are going to get, and by the time you get it, AP2 will probably be completely updated to full speed auto steer etc.
We went on a long drive with our MX100D... tried adaptive cruise and auto steer at 55 miles (took about 150 miles of driving for the mirrors to calibrate). Everything worked perfectly... can't wait for the 8.1 update to raise auto steer to full speed!
I think the DS has a lot of influence. Our car went from being confirmed (Feb 11th) to getting delivered today, in a total of 32 days. We have some foreign travel scheduled in a week (sent copy of plane tickets to our DS), and he made it happen.
That's great! Got a call from our DS this morning that our car would be at the DC in a couple of hours. He said they would make sure everything was okay, and detail it tomorrow. Can't wait for Thursday to go and pick it up!
We were told that we would have to make the payment before picking up the car, so we can sit in the parking lot and hit the "make payment" button, then go inside. Our DS also told us that they can now take care of the registration and license plates for us (just stated this service in Houston)...
Our X100D is scheduled for delivery this coming Thursday, and this evening a "Pay Now" button showed up on My Tesla. I'm not going to pay till Thursday morning, after conforming delivery with our DS.
We were not going to trade anything, so the other two things do not apply to us.
It looks like...
As far as I know, you pay sales tax on a car only once. Registration has to be done within 30 days of moving to a new state, but registration is only a couple hundred dollars, its the sales tax that is expensive.
DS called this evening and has scheduled delivery for our MX100D for Thursday, March 16th... it's currently in transit. He says the "regulatory hold" should not affect our delivery.
I got a very unofficial (basically unconfirmed) reply from our owner adviser that the regulation for Texas is going to be completed by March 13th. Not sure how much longer it will be after that to release the vehicles. Our MX100D is currently in transit to the north Houston DC and has a...
Apparently there is no method to this that anyone can understand... the updates on My Tesla, the emails from Tesla, and information from the DS are not even in chronological order.
The only guarantee is that we are all going to be lighter in the pocket sooner or later!!
Mine has been showing "in production" since feb 15th. Got an email last night saying car has now entered production. Got an email this morning from our DS that the car has now entered "general assembly" (according to him, the body and paint is done) and is scheduled for an early April delivery...
That's really frustrating. Our MX 100D has been "in production" for almost 3 weeks, which makes no sense. The DS is not being very helpful either... when I asked him about the EPA hold, this was his answer- "The 100D is a new product offering that is undergoing our standard validation process...
If the EPA hold is true, it makes sense that Tesla is not starting production of any additional 100D cars till their cars in the delivery centers are released.
I emailed our DS and asked him why 100D cars were not being released, and if it was a quality or safety issue. He replied back saying the hold had nothing to do with quality or safety, in his words- "The 100D is a new product offering that is undergoing the standard validation process prior to...
Hopefully it is fiction, not fact. Our DS has hinted at it, but has not said so in so many words, if it's true, let's hope the EPA does its part and the cars that are waiting at the delivery centers are released soon.
If you google "Tesla 100D EPA hold", it takes you to the forum where there are people whose cars are at the delivery centers, but they cannot take their cars home because of this.
Sad and frustrating update for all the 100D folks (S and X).... apparently there is a "hold" put on all these cars because the EPA has not independently certified the range for this particular configuration.... 100D option was available on January 21st 2017.... budget cuts at the EPA after the...

I'm from Houston too, and waiting on our MX100D. It's been showing "in production " on My a Tesla since Feb 15th, with an estimated delivery of March-Early April. I've talked to the DS several times, but all I get is vague replies, no concrete answers about why the car is in production for...
My experience is totally opposite.... no emails from Tesla at all since my order was confirmed on 2/11/17. Has been showing "in production" on My Tesla since Feb 15th. My DS initially emailed me that the car would be delivered Last Feb-early March, but has since changed it to March- early April...
I feel the same way... my car went into production on 2/15( according to my tesla) but no updates yet. I did not even get an email saying the car went into production...
That's the million dollar question!! It's totally arbitrary. Some people have experienced production time of 3 days, while my car is still in production since February 15th. And my DS is very inefficient, has given me nothing but "alternative facts" ever since I confirmed my order.
