Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
I've been predicting a delay of at least 3 months, could go as high as 6. Elon is no longer committing to any 10,000 unit goal time frame. Makes sense, the two month silence after the initial release to employees was deafening.
I would prefer having the option of an old fashioned key fob with all the features that come with it (my favorite of which popping open the trunk without having to go into the car). Plus I often leave my phone in the car when going out to dinner, concerts or movies. I don't want to have to carry...
I'm fairly confident the $5K price tag won't stick, it's an early adopter price. Already Nissan has the Pro Pilot option on the new Leaf for only $2500 (and that's part of a bundle with some other items).
True, but the 19" tires that have been showing up on the RC's are not well rated. I genuinely feel you're better off taking the 18" rims (I would keep them for Winter use) and invest those funds in a really good Summer tire/rim package.
19" TSportline Turbines for Model S are currently available at $425 a piece. If the offsets are similar they could very well use the same rim.
If that's too rich Tirerack has Model S 20" versions (20 x 9" or 20 x 10") available in the $239-249 range (again, depending on the offset); but prices...
I too generally get silver, and the one at the launch event looked incredible but the current silver just looks flat in all the pics I've seen; it needs more depth or something.
I'm going to get the 18" rims and see how it plays out. If I decide I want 19's I'll get them with Summer tires for about what the Sport rim upgrade costs.
I'll give them a shot. If I don't like them I may get a set of 19" rims/tires (maybe the 5 double-spokes from the S) for Summer use and keep the 18" for Winter.
I'm considering a set of my own 19" rims (maybe the 5 double-spokes from the S) with some really good Summer tires for about $1200 and will keep the 18" for Winter use.
So unlike an ICE car that will accelerate down a hill when using cruise control, a Tesla will keep the speed at whatever I set it by automatically regen braking?
I like to use cruise control whenever possible & our local interstates are very hilly. So if I set a Tesla cruise control to 65 mph, when I go down hills will the regenerative feature keep the car at 65 and gain range? Or would I need to apply the brakes to cause regeneration and slow the car down?
I think it all boils down to whether Elon can reach his early production goals. I doubt he wants to disenfranchise anyone. Yes, he needs to sell more highly optioned versions up front to keep the cash flowing, makes sense. But $35K for the base Model 3 is a good deal even without the tax credit...
Keep a positive thought. S70D owners who had the software limited batteries were originally asked to pony up $3K to upgrade to P75 were later given a bargain basement upgrade offer of only $500. I'm hopeful something similar will happen with EAP.
I believe it has not yet been determined, nor has there been any definitive word on XM that I'm aware of for that matter. But I've been told the S & X have both so hopefully the 3 will as well. FM HD sounds amazing in my Sonata and I'm hopeful it will in the 3.
I've seen other pictures of these rims without the cover but they appeared to be silver. These rims appear to be darkened. Not usually a fan of darkened rims but I must say it makes for an incredible color combination on this car. Anyone have any idea how much it would cost to have the rims...
I spent some time at the Sportline website today and they have a whole line of TST Tesla Wheels (Turbine) for the S in 19" 20" & 21" sizes and 5 finishes. I imagine the bolt pattern will be the same for the Model 3, and if the offsets work out, we may already have some choices available for the...
This is amazing. I am so done paying for streaming services that provide music on the go that I already have and own at home. Wouldn't it be awesome if we could stream our home server music over the web or cell to anywhere we happen to go?
Looking forward to your Model 3 offerings. Today I saw a Model S with the silver turbines and it looked AMAZING! Can you guys do a rendering of a Silver Model 3 with 19" Silver turbines?
I keep waffling on the choice myself. I went to A Better Routeplanner and calculated my regular business trips and weekend getaways. In most cases, with the Long Range, I could drive out and easily come back home on one charge. Then recalculated the same with the Standard battery and on most I...
So let's say I have a Fed tax liability of exactly $7500 and my employer withholds a total of exactly $7500 over the year. If I purchase the vehicle in that said year and apply for the tax credit of $7500 I will get a refund check for $7500. Correct?
I cannot wait to see the Model 3 in person. It is one of those few cars that seems to look good in every color. I'm currently torn between the red and black but also considering the midnight silver.
LOL, you were the inspiration and at first I thought that's what your pole was asking. Then I became curious how my thoughts/opinions compared to others on Enhanced. I stated as such on your thread, then decided so start my own pole. But I'm in the minority on this one and my opinion has not...
I was disappointed that the base battery did not at least match the range of the Bolt but I have since reconciled why it doesn't nor needs to. Having said that I initially felt $9K was a lot of mullah to upgrade to the extended range. And while I can do a lot of other things with that amount of...
Interesting, so it's not accurate what I'm hearing; that V1 currently performs better than V2?
I wish they could software limit the current version to V1 and just charge $2500 for it. I would gladly pay that.
I was "all in" with Enhanced Autopilot when it was priced $2500 for V1. But at $5000 for V2 I'm a lot more hesitant and at that price point decided I can live with out it. Unfortunately it appears they have bundled adaptive cruise control in with Enhanced Autopilot and I really wanted that...
In a recent YouTuber James Cooke video a friend of his keeps a spare dummy tire in his Model S with jack and wrench. Something to consider for the Model 3.
HUD would have just made too much sense in this car. While I've gotten over it I'm still a bit disappointed. And to make matters worse Trevor got insider information that the aftermarket ones won't work in the Model 3 :/
