Battery Charge Level Will Be Restricted

OP here. @feffions - sorry about that. Have you tried to charge it? Hopefully you have enough to make it to the service center, or they will send out a flatbed. My experience, in Southern California back when this happened in July '17, was it took them a few days to install a loaner battery...

Pilot Sport 4S vs Pilot Super Sport

Hi all, I have 20" aftermarket rims on my P85+ so I can run a square pattern (245/40/20). I've had good luck running Mich Pilot Super Sports but it is time to retire them. Looking at the Michelin web site it looks like the PS4S is the next thing, destined to replace the PSS. Anyone have any...

Yet another thread about locals using Superchargers

Battery Charge Level Will Be Restricted

@agloutney The display says 243 rated miles at 89% charge. I haven't been keeping track, and I usually display percent, not miles. It does seem that my daily round trip commute of 56 miles seems to use slightly less percentage of the battery than before. I'll start keeping track and let you know.

    Model S won't charge

"Loaner pack" means they loan you a battery while they fix your original battery. It took them 3-4 days to get another battery - apparently a new 85 kWh manufactured just a month or so ago - and they took my battery out and stuck this new battery in my car. Then they sent my battery back to...

@apacheguy - I stopped at the Rancho Cucamonga supercharger on my way to Big Bear Lake Thurs evening. This charge schedule is after I switched to an unpaired charger. I did see a peak of 110 kW when I first plugged in. After leaving the SC @90% SOC, I made it to Big Bear Lake with 52%, then...

    Supercharger - Kettleman City, CA (LIVE 15 Nov 2017, 24 V2 + 16 V3 stalls, lounge)

I've been driving from LA to the East Bay for 30+ years, as I live in the former but grew up in the latter. The Kettleman City exit off of I-5 was always the halfway point, and we always made our single stop there back in the ICE days. Great location for a big supercharger station, but you...

Update - I got my car back Friday with the loaner battery. So it took from Monday to Friday, with July 4th holiday in the middle, to get a loaner battery. Seems like a reasonable time frame; I know others have waited longer. They will notify me when my battery is repaired and I will update...

Tesla mistake? - "fully loaded, newly built cars to our service loaner fleet"

Questions about buying a used 2013 Model S

I picked up a 2013 CPO P85+ about 13 months ago. Car had 35k miles back then; it's pushing 50k now. I've had a 12v issue which took them a couple of times to find, a leak in the right rear taillight (pretty common), and a busted motor mount which got me a new drive unit. All this was covered...

    Tesla and reliability

I have a 2013 CPO I picked up a year ago with 35k miles on it. I've put an additional 12k miles since. I had a 12v no-start condition due to a faulty junction box interlock switch - took them a couple tries to find it but it's resolved. Yesterday I took it in for a pretty significant "clunk"...

Subtle "clunk" from rear when accelerating from a stop

Took it to the SC. They felt it pretty quick, after driving it a car length. After a trip around the block the tech said this is not a typical drive unit noise, this is pretty bad. They want to keep the car. Probably a motor mount. Out of loaners (of course) so I have a rental. They are a...

I just developed the clunk today. I'll call Buena Park SC tomorrow and take it in. I hope they don't give me a hard time about my aftermarket TSW Geneva 20" wheels. Tire size is 245/40/20 which is same dia as OEM 19's.

    Issues with my Model S

Concur. A driver's side window falling out is unacceptable, especially for a car as pricey as an A8. But an intermittent electrical problem that kills the car dead? That's Russian Roulette every time you leave the driveway.

OK. Tire wear is past ridiculous. Photo attached

My staggered PS2s (rear) are down to ~1/32 (2 mm) after 8,000 miles. They do all the acceleration and virtually all the braking. My fronts have at least 50% of their tread left. Tesla told me to expect this when I bought the car last year. As of a week ago have aftermarket 20" with 245/40/20...
