Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I'm back. Just took in the last 3 pages... Nope. I'm gone again. The usual suspects - still doing their relentlesspissingmatch. If any of these bigoilkeyboardwarriors give a s***, I'm still hodl-ing.

    Supercharger - Winthrop, WA (speculation)

Just spent 4 days in the Methow. I offer a possible 'insider' update. My BIL overheard that a site being considered at "The Barn" was nixed because the land was deeded to the town by an estate that dictates -- "All uses must be open to the general public" -- which eliminates special access like...

    Supercharger - Burlington, WA - 9400 Old Hwy 99 N. (under construction Nov 2023, 16 V4 stalls)

Drove past 5/10/24. Looks ready to go. No lights so I didn't try to charge,

I've apparently stumbled onto the PissingMatch forum. I'll be gone until the rationals return. BTW, I spied my first in-the-wild CT this morning! Yippee!!!

In 2019, I charged at a 4-stall at a gas station while on my road trip to Fremont. It worked well. The *absolute* best part of charging there? I happily used their WINDSHIELD SCRUBBER! Those frequently needed tools are conspicuously absent from most SuCs.

True. My experience is limited to commercial/institutional environments. Not residential. I often use the 'free' Volta chargers over here. Some are 240 VAC, while others are 208 VAC. The car displays the source voltage on the charging screen, and apparently figures out how to make use of what's...

Your source? The ones I've personally installed in commercial parking lots were 3-phase 208 volts AC. Fact.

I've never seen this message. When the AI asks why, does it offer multiple choices, or does it want a text message or, safer still, a voice recording (since you're likely still driving)?

Our MX has stalks. We just push the lower left stalk forward to turn off FSD.

I'm fairly positive any 'Tesla Ranger' worth his salt could fix this in your garage/driveway. I suspect all that's needed is a torque wrench. We just had a Ranger visit us last week. His mobile service truck? A brand new, fully kitted-out Model S!

Change is hard, even for people with -- some -- ethical thinking. I have relatives who are avid naturalists with PhDs, and have young grandkids facing an uncertain future. They both have ridden my Teslas. Yet they STILL drive ICE vehicles. SMDH!

Since IANAL, is there a way for us sharehodlers to file an AMICUS brief -- either as a group or, more profoundly, as individuals, thereby flooding that 'jurist' with OUR opinions? GRRR!

Clearly, you've never experienced an IBM Model D Executive typewriter with proportional spacing. I repaired those things for 17-18 years That was until the IBM Selectric Composer hit the publishing industry. Many good memories of all the offices (and lovely ladies) I visited. Sigh...

I awoke from a dream this morning in which I was tooling down an Interstate in a new roadster -- steering with a (wait for it)... JOYSTICK! Guess I'm just a frustrated fighter pilot wannaB, eh?

Anyone who has kids, or will someday, needs to ask themselves, "What future will we leave for our kids? Where will they be able to survive, let alone thrive." Just my 2 cents.

Speaking just for the 2 of us. We hate the invasion of ANY advertising into ANY facet of our lives, sporting events, streaming movies, news, shopping, etc.. It's particularly bad in hockey when the players have their concentration broken for a 'TV timeout' - just so some Carnival Barker can...

I'd suggest wrapping a band of bright orange electrical tape around your adapter. I did my J1772 adapters and it's really hard to miss. Good luck, and thanks for supporting Tesla!

    SpaceX Internet Satellite Network: Starlink

Sorry for hijacking the thread. This is a company worth watching! A machine with long run time and overnight charging, OTA updates, unattended operation! Hopefully the price will lower as the company scales up. Their focus appears to be (appropriately) commercial scale farming. The've done a...

Now. If someone could step up and produce a realistically fuctional EV-Tractor for small scale use (pushing snow, small-field mowing, etc.). That Kubota diesel I ran back in CO was very difficult to start, refuel and maintain. Please? After all, I think that all the electric motor would need to...

Thanks for making us aware of the alternative. Sadly, it isn't available for ChromeBooks - yet. I tried to send an email request to the developers via [email protected] but apparently they no longer monitor that addy.

Since it's the weekend, I'll offer up a helping of positive news that relates to Tesla's initial mission of transitioning to EVs - but specifically addressing EV charging in the U. S. I especially enjoyed the video clip of President Biden actually speaking the word TESLA for the first time...

Just wondering, will the factory tasks which Optimus2 is assigned be primarily assembly while the displaced humans will be given the repair work? Maybe not, if AI can learn diagnostics and problem-solving. My crystal ball is clouded.

Oh, My bad. I apologise ;^) The bulk of my hodls are in an IRA and my Required Minimum Distro for 2023 is based on the closing price on the last trading day of this year. I hope for a preciptous drop on that last day, followed by an astronomical rise on the first day of the new year. All this...

My wife wants something akin to the "Mr. Bean" car. I'd personally like to see a 2-door hatchback like the older H****a Civ**. We had two of those fun-to-drive machines back in the 90's. At my age, I need something I can actually get into and out of, so a roadster is out of the question ;^)

    Rear Seat Questions

Does anyone know if the rear seat -- latches -- in the up position? We travel in our MX with two large golden retrievers and wondered if the CT has the space for them with the seat up. Others have asked if the rear seat is removable, but haven't seen that question answered.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I've been retired for 11 years now. I MUST take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) each year, and that RMD amount is calculated each year on the value of my 401k on 12/31. That said, my preference would be to have the SP drop precipitously on new years eve, then rapidly recover on the first...
