My export to grid is not an issue. I can export at 5kW from the Powerwall and higher than that, up to 8.68kW, with solar and battery export combined.

I have DNO permission to export 8.68kW, not sure what that equates to in amps? I’m not sure where to check fuses. There is PV Array Junction Box but it’s screwed shut. There are no fuses for the PV in my consumer unit.

Sorted. It was obvious really, I just re-downloaded the latest version (without removing it first). It accepted the owners API token and is up and running again.

Thanks, I’ll try restarting HA. I did try to reload a previous version but 3.19 is no longer on the list. I was trying to avoid a fresh install as I have quite a few automations set up and not sure if I’d lose them? That will be my last resort.

I can generate an owners API token ok. The problem I have is that I checked the ‘Fleet API’ box in the HA configuration to see what was needed and now I’m stuck in the screen that needs the additional Fleet API details. My car might not even be on Fleet API but I can’t get back to the first...

I think I messed it up! I ticked the box for Fleet API before I posted here earlier and now it’s asking for extra fields as below. I can’t find a way to get back to the first screen to uncheck the Fleet API box.

Have you got it working yet? When I first set up the integration I used the iPhone app Auth for Tesla to generate tokens. This now has a Fleet API section that requires logging in to your Tesla account and then generates tokens. Any ideas if that will work with latest HA integration?

Yep! +14p on the standing charge. -3p on the day rate. Last billing period I only used 2.39kWh on the day rate. So I’ll save around 7p a month on that while paying an extra £4+ a month on standing charges.

Ah I see, that makes sense now, thanks. I don’t think I’ve had it set to “Export Everything” during a solar production period yet. I’ll try it tomorrow and see if it still maxes out at 5kW. Am I right in thinking you can see the site export limit by logging on to the Tesla gateway?

Are you not limited to 5kW max by your inverter? Or have I misunderstood? I also have a 5kW inverter so always thought that was the max rate I could export at?

It’s not as simple as that because the solar is not always 100% exported and most days I also export excess battery storage at the end of the day. So my solar production figure will rarely be the same as the energy exported to the grid. I’m putting figures in a spreadsheet to get a rough idea...

You were misinformed by that Octopus rep. You can still exchange the points for credit in your energy account.

Yes I think you’re correct, so probably couldn’t fully automate for a saving session. I manually set my PW to “Export Everything” every night before I go to sleep so it exports any excess kWh and then HA switches it back to “Solar” after 23:30 so it’s ready for the next day.

You can use the Tesla Custom Integration by alandtse to switch between “Solar” and “Everything” in the export settings.

My home assistant integration has just automatically joined a saving session. No other notifications yet. *edit - it’s just appeared in the Octopus app

I’ve got a Zappi 2 which is integrated with IO. The first night it was used it didn’t add the full amount to the car that I had requested but it turned out to be a schedule set in the Zappi that was overriding IO (no idea how the schedule was set unless the electrician who fitted it set it up)...

It’s actually only 99.5% but you’ve got to love rounding 😄. And it’s only 5 days in to the current billing month so it won’t stay like that.

I drove a friends Model 3 fairly regularly a year or so ago and the auto headlights were useless so were always switched off. On my 2023 Model Y I’ve had for 6 months they’ve been faultless. I’ve not once had to switch full beam off manually. I’m currently on 2023.44.30.8

Solcast, same as @phil4. I agree it’s not very accurate but it does look forward 7 days and keeps the history which the built in Forecast.Solar didn’t do.

Apparently Octopus may have already started kicking people off IO for not using it correctly. There is some discussion about it on the Myenergi forums. Ultimately people gaming the system are likely to ruin it for everyone eventually.
