Supercharger - Hollywood, CA (under construction Sep 2023, 32 stalls + diner)

Only an hour away, so what's that, about 5 miles? (JK) I'm five hours away, and I'll visit too! Lemme know when, we'll meet up. 😉

Supercharger - Trop & Fort Apache, Las Vegas (SW Vegas), NV

Photo from 29 Sep 2023. Looks good enough to eat! However, I've seen lots of Supercharger development get stalled at the 95% line, so it's not over until it's over. 😉

If you mean where's the Supercharger site, the icon on supercharge.info looks exactly right to me. If you mean where's my Smart Car, No.

    Supercharger - Euless, TX

Wow, that's super close to my first house (1983-1989), near Glade & Main. I miss that house, and Euless was nice too. I'll have to visit again some day.

The supercharge.info map pin for this charger is just feet from a fast food place that I frequent, an El Pollo Loco. A dangerous combination! I❤️🤪🐔

    Supercharger - Primm Hub, NV

The Supercharger is a five minute walk from two major commercial sites: Primm Valley Casino, which is nice, and the Outlet Mall at Primm, which is all but dead, a very sad sight indeed. I hope it can be resuscitated somehow, because it used to be a nice place to shop and eat.

    Supercharger - Primm Hub, NV

Never forget that at the start of the pandemic the management nitwits at Primm Valley Resort closed their casino (OK, fine, that's their business) but also their lot and blocked access to the Superchargers — deploying highly trained professional armed guards (sarcasm) to make sure nobody got to...

Supercharger - Hollister, CA (Casa De Fruta, LIVE 12 Mar 2018, 20 stalls)

Without having seen this discussion or knowing anything beyond what you'd see on the center display, I happened to visit the Hollister charger on Friday. It now ranks way high on my list of favorite chargers. I was impressed with the restaurant (I had an excellent omelet) and made a quick visit...

Supercharger - St George, UT - Convention Center Drive

I recently noticed that Mesquite NV has appeared on the Tesla.com "Coming soon" map, along with "target opening in 4Q 2021." That'll be a big help for traffic going either direction on I-15, especially if we get a V3 charger. Fingers crossed that Tesla comes through.

    Supercharger - Shelby, IA

I recently made my longest-ever Model S trip, some 4500 miles, including Yellowstone, Mount Rushmore, Badlands, Minnetonka MN (relatives) and Cedar Rapids IA (distant relatives). The trip was a lot of fun overall. The worst Supercharger experience was Wall SD where the chargers were blocked off...

    Supercharger - Baker, CA (LIVE / EXPANDED 40 V2 + 20 V3 stalls)

I don't really watch this Supercharger location all that closely, but yesterday afternoon (Sat 29 May, Memorial Day weekend) I stopped by for a few kWh and instead of the usual experience of having all 40 chargers to myself or nearly so, I counted 28 various Tesla models there. Amazing. They...

    Supercharger - Ozark, AR

I was going to make a similar comment, but @bkp_duke said it with more eloquence than I ever could. :D I too have been watching that frustrating I-40 gap for ages, and while I've never taken Second Childhood (the name of my Model S) on that particular route, I have with gas burners and I hope...

    Supercharger - Primm, NV

With all of the recent and frankly unanticipated SC activity in Las Vegas -- Tivoli, LINQ/High Roller, Premium Outlets North (which I'm hoping will be named "Spaghetti Bowl") -- has anyone checked around Primm lately to see if there's an expansion or second SC site in work?

    Supercharger - Tusayan, AZ

I was in Tusayan just last weekend, staying at the hotel directly across the street (the Best Western). I wish I'd known, I would have looked. The BW has two outstanding destination chargers, incidentally, two at over 70 amps, which is nearly Urban Supercharger power all by themselves...

Supercharger - Kill Devil Hills, NC

Are Supercharger pedestals being installed on a 90° rotation now? I don't think that I've seen pedestals installed quite like this before, that is, rather than being "flat" along the vehicle's rear bumper.

    Supercharger - Baker, CA (LIVE / EXPANDED 40 V2 + 20 V3 stalls)

Baker is super awesome as a charging stop (chargers are always available, which is wonderful between L.A. and Las Vegas), but it's sorely deficient in the food, shopping, and restroom department. The DQ and a couple pricey convenience stores are close at hand, but that's it. It's a half mile...

Series 1 HPWC issues with 2018 model S

I'm in the same boat. Gen 1 HPWC, worked perfectly with my 2012 S, now that I've just acquired a 2018 S, the HPWC errors out with the red light, regardless of temperature or amperage settings. The mobile charger the came with the new S works fine; don't know about the old mobile charger since I...

    Supercharger - Henderson NV

The Supercharger looks good to go... it's soooooo close! The new Travel Center is very nice. A tourist railroad goes right by the site also; one train happened to pass during my brief visit. The changes to the road layouts (and the first time I've ever seen an official "I-11" sign too) are...

    Supercharger - Baker, CA (LIVE / EXPANDED 40 V2 + 20 V3 stalls)

I had my first visit here (to the Supercharger that is) on Monday 5/21/18, around 3 in the afternoon. One Model 3 was already there, so I had a choice of 39 stations. Never before have I had a charge where I was confident that I was loading up on glorious sunlight. Barstow, for instance, has a...

Supercharger - Stateline, NV (South Lake Tahoe)

Just for interest's sake, there once was an unincorporated "State Line" Nevada (two words), but because of continuing confusion with this Stateline, it was renamed in 1996 to "Primm." There's an existing Supercharger in Primm too, which adds to the coincidence a bit.

Supercharger - Las Vegas, NV - Las Vegas Blvd. South

The fencing around the site has been removed. There was at least one worker present at 4:30pm when I drove by on my way home, and I did glimpse that the shrink-wrap is still on the pedestals, so I suspect that it's not turned on yet. But heck, progress is progress, true?

    Supercharger - West Yellowstone, MT

Good point; I thought about Moab — been there myself, it's lovely country, everybody should visit — but as it's on the first transcontinental Supercharger route, serving to link I-40 and I-70, I counted it as a long-distance SC. Having said that, now that the coast-to-coast map is much more...

    Supercharger - West Yellowstone, MT

I'm not 100% sure, but this looks to me to be the first Supercharger sited to serve a National Park Service site. I.E., it's poorly located to serve long-distance traffic well, like most Superchargers. The upcoming Groveland CA site will be a gift for those who visit Yosemite, but that one is...

Supercharger - Rancho Cucamonga, CA (12 V2 stalls)

Yup, that'll happen if you park within a few spaces of a Supercharger. Anybody who presses the button on a SC handle pops open every nearby Tesla's charge port! Take a big ol' roll of duct tape with you, and tape your charge port shut! Problem solved. ;)

    Supercharger - Strasburg, VA

That's a terrific view all right. I believe that's Signal Knob, elevation 2106 ft, in the previous post's photo. Signal Knob is the northernmost peak of Massanutten Mountain, and was used as an observation post by both sides (at different times of course!) during the Civil War. Incidentally, I...

    Supercharger - Primm, NV

Everyone knows it's windy The Primm Supercharger appears to have come through the last night's wind unscathed, but the adjacent gas station, convenience store and gift shop were... well, I guess scathed is the word! They're both closed right now due to chunks of the big sign falling into the...

Supercharger - Beatty, NV (live 2016/2/9)

It appears that the last hardware to go in is the electric utility's transformer. Once that's in, as a rule Tesla's contractor finishes up speedily, and the final city/county inspection is normally easy enough. I've been told that rural or small utility companies can't afford to keep big...

Supercharger - Mammoth Lakes, CA (8 V2 stalls)

I've never been to Mammoth, but I'm definitely thinking about it now! (You'll find me on the bunny slopes and intermediates only!) I can't help but think that this station serves the SoCal-Tahoe route nicely at just 100 mile intervals, suitable for all weather and all battery sizes, but doesn't...

    Supercharger - Tremonton, UT

It's hard to be exact, but Tesla's 2016 map appears to include both Pocatello and Idaho Falls ID, and Jackson Hole WY, and Dillon MT. Other folks have posted here about the practicality of the Tremonton-West Yellowstone run without Superchargers: mildly inconvenient with an 85kWh battery, moreso...

Supercharger - Barstow (EXPANDED, 5 stalls added, now 16 total)

I'm going to speculate that electric service in Barstow is crazy-expensive. That has to be the #1 factor in going solar; #2 being that Barstow simply gets oodles of sun year-round! I visited Barstow over the last holiday (MLK Day) weekend, on my first Las Vegas-SoCal trip since Primm opened...

    Supercharger - West Wendover, NV

Cool! However... according to my map it's over 200 miles to the next nearest working S/C (in Nephi UT), so it might be a while before it gets many visitors! This might be, for the moment, the most isolated Supercharger in the world. Ev'ry bit helps, though.

Perhaps the two dead chargers is explained by this photo! :scared: Their description of the unit seems pretty blunt to me! PS: I never noticed until just now that the "top heavy" symbol looks very much like the Tesla logo!

    Supercharger - Primm, NV

On November 1: Well, I'd guessed the 15th of December, so your estimate was closer than mine — but just barely! I'm glad. I also see that the Primm S/C is listed the in-car nav now, so it must be up and running now. Perhaps I'll stop by sometime this weekend for an official snapshot.

    Supercharger - Primm, NV

Good point! If Nevada is really on the bandwagon, then perhaps someday we'll see a more direct S/C corridor connecting Nevada's largest city and the Reno/Sparks Gigafactory site. You'd think that some Gigafactory higher-ups and those with company cars will want a S/C path southward. It'd be...

    Supercharger - Primm, NV

    Supercharger - Primm, NV

Primm: evidence of progress. Cabinets and chargers are installed (in a peculiar 3-and-oh-yeah-1-more configuration); it looks to me like a pad for the electric utility's transformer is in; about half of the concrete work is done around the pylons. The concrete was wet. I saw some concrete forms...

So the battery compartment wasn't compromised? That was lucky. If there is damage anywhere near the traction battery, I wouldn't keep it in the garage if I were you.
