    Rear side door unlatching

Did you ever solve the problem? The rear driver-side door on my 2018 S is unlatching itself, and I also concluded it's the controller.

Behavior of latest FSD beta after subscription ends

I have received 1-2 updates since the last post. The notes only referred to minor updates or bug fixes. No new features for this legacy 2018 Model S! Currently on 2023.20.8 Have NOT re-subscribed to FSD.

Yes, still lapsed. Had 5/25/23: Software 2023.12.10 FSD 11.3.6 Navigation NA-2022-28-14046 Have, as of 7/3/23: Software 2023.20.7 FSD (lapsed 6/23/23) Navigation NA-2022-44-14515

Behavior of latest FSD beta after subscription ends

No forced software update. We simply navigated to a restaurant, had dinner, then found the third button for FSD Beta missing upon our return to the car. I have driven It a year and a half without FSD. Highway lane keeping has always been a bit “twitchy”, meaning it does more corrections than...

Behavior of latest FSD beta after subscription ends

Just FYI… I subscribed to FSD Beta for one month on our 2018 S. It expired today, and all AP and EAP behavior reverted back to the legacy code, as if I had never tried FSD. That’s a shame. I was hoping Tesla would have let us keep using the FSD code, but simply restricted it to highway use. FSD...

Skipping/Chattering wipers.. Tried and true remedy?

Adding to the above post… After the razor blade scraping, I also used 0000 steel wool. That reduced even more friction, but it wasn’t a drastic improvement.

Skipping/Chattering wipers.. Tried and true remedy?

Our 2018 Model S has had chattering wiper blades for months. I've tried Rain-X (original and ceramic), glass stripper, car wax, at least three sets of new blades, bending the arms to make blade perpendicular to the glass, etc. Everything worked at first, but the chattering returned every time...

Vendor Tips for window regulator repair

It depends on what broke on your regulator. Sometimes the ferrule breaks, but in my case the plastic traveler car broke. That’s the piece where each cable end attaches. It rides up and down the rear track. You should be able to make a determination by removing the door panel and looking at the...

    Vendor Official Tessie app talk

I replaced the battery months before trying Tessie, so I can't tell whether the clicking would have occurred with the old battery. My free trial ended, and so has the clicking. If you solve this, please let me know, as I do like the data Tessie provides.

    Vendor Official Tessie app talk

I’ll try the power cycle. Thanks. The 12v battery was replaced in January with this one from Ohmmu: 12v Lithium Battery for Model S SKU T1230S

    Vendor Official Tessie app talk

I tried the free trial for two weeks, and started noticing the HV battery contactors clicking every 60 seconds when car was parked and locked (and had been for at least an hour, sometimes overnight). Both the Tesla app and Tessie apps were closed on both of our phones. I then launched the Tessie...

Vendor Tips for window regulator repair

The driver's side rear door of my 2018 Model S has a nut on the attachment point for the front of the window, and the plastic clip on the attachment point for the rear of the window. So, Tesla must have reversed them on the front doors. For everyone else reading this... Just remove your door...

    12V Accessory Circuit connection?

Is F207 switched, even when Sentry Mode is on? I'm trying to find a power source that turns off when I exit my 2018 S (but leave Sentry on).
  14. B

12v switched power for Radar Detector

What year is your S? And did it switch off even with Sentry on? I'm asking, because I am also seeking switched power even with Sentry on, for my 2018 S.

    Vendor Official Tessie app talk

That's good. Does it also prevent waking the car at other times? For TeslaFi, the clicking was happening when I wasn't even using the app.

    Vendor Official Tessie app talk

Will Tessie cause my HV battery contactors to cycle on and off every two minutes, continuously? I'm asking because I have tried other apps like TeslaFi and TeslaMate, and both did just that. They were connected to my account to monitor our 2018 Model S 100D. I could stand near the car and hear...

2017 Model S (facelift) cabin filter questions

Agreed! The only online filters I could find were in Germany, Lithuania and the UK, and they were each about $30. Because I was at the Tesla service center, anyway, I asked for a price. The 1072736-00-B filter for my 2018 Model S was just as you mentioned, only $8.80 each, so I bought three!

2017 Model S (facelift) cabin filter questions

Arrows pointing down. I turned on my HVAC system, and could tell the air was being pulled downward. If anyone knows an aftermarket source for Tesla cabin air filters, please let us know. Fram and other companies don't seem to be making them, yet.

    Cabin Air filter question

Regarding cabin air filters, Tesla makes a distinction between cars built prior to April 2016, and from April 2016 onward. Beware: My 2018 filter is only .75" thick, and many aftermarket listings for filters state that they fit my car, but they're actually 1.25" thick. They do not fit.

    Cabin air filter?

Inside and outside air are all pulled through the one cabin air filter. If you remove your glovebox to change the filter, turn your HVAC system on, then toggle the recirculate button on and off while observing the area above the filter. A door rotates to change the incoming air sources (outside...

New Michelin Primacy MXM4 - steering feels light at freeway speeds

How do you like the MXM4s, now that you've had them for 9 months? I'm considering them for my 2018 Model S 100D.

Charging Cable Organizer with Side Plug

Well, it's mounted. As mentioned above, I swapped the charge handle receptacles left and right (so the Tesla handle was on the left side), but then changed the mounting location and ended up swapping them back. This is a decent unit, but it's the only one I've ever had, so I don't have anything...

Charging Cable Organizer with Side Plug

FYI: I did buy one and it arrived today. You can pop out the Tesla and J-1772 inserts, then swap their positions. I did this, because I want the Tesla insert on the left. If there are any problems after mounting, I'll be sure to follow up here.

Charging Cable Organizer with Side Plug

My thought, too. Obviously they were not users of this product!

Here's a photo of the one I linked to, above:

Charging Cable Organizer with Side Plug

I have been looking for one, also, and they are VERY hard to find! It's strange that the Tesla Wall Connectors have receptacles on their sides, but almost all of the aftermarket charge cable organizers have them on their fronts. All but the one below, anyway (so far). I actually want it on the...

WTB: Model S 2012-2020 Fixed Glass Roof Sunshade

I'm looking for one, also, for the same 2018 fixed-roof model. It's unique in that it's all one piece, not two-piece. However, they seem to disappeared from the market (except the one Tesla offers). I was hoping to compare before buying. Did you ever find one?
