Agreed! The only online filters I could find were in Germany, Lithuania and the UK, and they were each about $30. Because I was at the Tesla service center, anyway, I asked for a price. The 1072736-00-B filter for my 2018 Model S was just as you mentioned, only $8.80 each, so I bought three!

Regarding cabin air filters, Tesla makes a distinction between cars built prior to April 2016, and from April 2016 onward. Beware: My 2018 filter is only .75" thick, and many aftermarket listings for filters state that they fit my car, but they're actually 1.25" thick. They do not fit.

Well, it's mounted. As mentioned above, I swapped the charge handle receptacles left and right (so the Tesla handle was on the left side), but then changed the mounting location and ended up swapping them back. This is a decent unit, but it's the only one I've ever had, so I don't have anything...

FYI: I did buy one and it arrived today. You can pop out the Tesla and J-1772 inserts, then swap their positions. I did this, because I want the Tesla insert on the left. If there are any problems after mounting, I'll be sure to follow up here.

I'm looking for one, also, for the same 2018 fixed-roof model. It's unique in that it's all one piece, not two-piece. However, they seem to disappeared from the market (except the one Tesla offers). I was hoping to compare before buying. Did you ever find one?
