Wow, you took the liner out just to check this? That's, IMO is the hardest trim to put back on. Raymond makes it look simple though in his videos. It took me about 10 minutes to get right.

I've installed the 3.0 kit and my next step is to use Toolbox to update the config. Here in the States we can only get it for a whole day. Silly and way more expensive. Does anyone here on the forums have contacts or connections with anyone who might do it for cheaper than 165 dollars?

Has anyone who has installed a EVOffer kit and modified the software to indicate the retrofit noticed if their car is having any sleeping problems? Some users on the forum who have gotten the official retrofit are reporting that their cars aren't sleeping correctly. Probably a hardware issue...

Yes, this seems to be the reason Tesla isn't installing it on the older models. If you have upgraded your center console, you should contact your nearest service center to see if they are willing to do the retrofit for you. You might have to prove to them that your connectors are compatible.

Mostly a question. EVOffer has a video where they show the Tesla liftgate retrofit being replaced with their own auto liftgate retrofit. In that situation the in car and in app UI continues to function like an OEM auto liftgate retrofit. I'm wondering if I can make this same change on my 2018...

I've read through the thread and I just wanted to confirm something about changing the settings with Toolbox. With the public Toolbox you can now change the value for the automatic lift gate, right? When it's changed, it appears that it will persist through software updates.

If you buy used from Tesla, I think it comes with an additional 1 year 10k warranty after the existing one expires. Also, any advertised features (FSD, EAP, etc) will be on the car; you won't have to worry about them getting pulled unexpectedly. The disadvantage is not being able to test drive...

In Chicago, our weather can be somewhat unpredictable. Temps can be in the 50s for a month, and then we get hit with snow. Whenever I consider a winter/summer set up, it's the switch from winter to summer that worries me.

It's possible they have to be shipped back to Tesla before they can be marked in stock.

This totally makes sense as when you look at 3rd party retrofits they explicitly say there's a different connector for 2017/2018 cars.

I got "the email" this morning. Can't say I wasn't expecting it having a 2018. Maybe Tesla will notice the demand and create an upgrade that is compatible with older M3s, especially if it's just a wiring harness change. If so I hope it doesn't take 2.5 years! If someone here with a 2019 does...

It does. I think at the beginning this will require a service center. As Tesla gets more data on how the installs go it might be an option for mobile service, or maybe they might have to train up the mobile techs before mobile is available.

We use this charger almost every time we make the trek from IL to MN. It's a really great stop. Luckily we've never had to wait, but that's probably because of how we plan our drives. I'll usually let my daughter get a shake from the Culver's if we don't just get food there. Great location!

I've had the EVOffer frunk since about the end of 2021. It's worked mostly flawlessly with one small exception. The frunk would pop open but not open all the way unless you lifted it slightly. I talked to EVOffer and they recommended a spring swap which fixed the problem completely. I...

I think this is a known issue with one of the wall connector updates. It happens to me on occasion and support said as long as it starts charging again not to worry.

When I bought my first Tesla it was transferred to me by the owner immediately. I didn't claim it myself. It was pretty smooth and the car was in my account before I drove away. I'd guess it's possible to have it all set up before you leave if they transfer it to you instead of you claiming...

At some point they changed it so that after unlocking the car with the keycard for a certain amount of time after you wouldn't need to place it on the console to start driving. I'm not sure what's going on with your climate control warning though. It seems like the car is locking when you walk...
