Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
FWIW, I did this route 2 weeks ago and my Model 3 had me stop in Laurinburg. I don’t usually require a stop but it was really cold that day and I was burning through battery. Not sure why your car skips it.
This was from Tuesday. Getting closer but they aren’t done yet. Pedestals are back together. The workers were below on level 5. Found it odd they left this open.
Something is up, maybe they failed inspection? Had to go into the office today so I tried to go up and ran into this. Seems like they are re-running cabling. From the offices you can see they’ve taken some of the supercharger pedestals apart. May be a long wait…
Nice addition. I don’t generally need a charge coming back to CLT but in the winter I’ve had to stop in Rockingham and it is way too far off 74. This is perfect to get 5 mins of charge in the winter or if I don’t get fully charged when leaving the coast. N. Topsail area, that is. And...
Dropped by tonight, no access to the 6th level (blocked off) so I walked up from the 5th. Still doesn’t appear to be live. Everything looks ready to go.
Tesla isn’t like an internal combustion engine. Very few moving parts. From the day I got mine, I’ve driven it the same. When I want to floor it, I floor it. Very little required maintenance too.
Read the manual though. I read it multiple times before buying and while waiting. I don’t...
I got this on NOA on an Interstate loop. It’s a major project that has been running for a while. It slowed to 60 and wouldn’t let me change it. Oddly, I believe the construction speed limit is even posted higher than that but I’d have to circle back through to confirm. Even more strange, it...
Most are painted with three white arrows. Not the entire hump, just where you should go over it on your side of the lane. I think the 2 were missed because it couldn’t seem them quickly enough (curve/trailer). The 3rd, it did slow down but not until I was already over it with my front tires, I...
Just did a 10 mile test loop. Almost no jerkiness at all and only where it made sense. Creeping out with cars approaching, etc. Driving on unmarked residential roads is much better. Although it did seem to drift so that the drivers side (USA) was dead on in the center of the lane. Even when it...
Got mine when I awoke as well. My commute is 5 steps to my home office so I’ll have to take it for a drive at lunch.
I’ll be taking a road trip up the East coast in the coming weeks and hope to use FSD and NOA for most of the trip from NC to Connecticut and possibly Rhode Island.
Let’s hope it is right off 74. Atrium Union-West hospital area would be super convenient although I think that is in Stallings. Coming back from the beach can be tricky in Winter. Rockingham has helped, but that supercharger is too far off the bypass. Providence Road will be helpful but not...
Answering the question from the OP, I guess the max I’d pay is 12K since I bought FSD a few days before this was released. With FSD I get traffic light chimes for only 6K more. Suckers! I got so much more for my money!
Just thought I’d share there are 2 destination chargers at the Smithfield’s in Whiteville, NC. Just off 74. Exit 241. Very convenient since I’m always stopping to eat BBQ. Adds a little free power while there. Fingers crossed they will eventually add superchargers It’s in a perfect spot with...
If the clips are damaged, it will eventually fall down and need to be replaced. I had to replace mine and I think it was around $250. Mine was damaged when I ran over a curb trying to get out of the way of a fire truck.
My March 2021 Model 3 LR is working as you’d expect. It corrects when it should. I think I’d open a service request via the app if you have it set correctly. Something sounds off.
Sure, the link is below. I mounted the cord beside it. Not sure if all of it would fit inside but likely so. I used rubber o-ring grommets to protect the cord from the plastic cutting into it. Put a small combo lock on it and The high voltage sticker. The CMC is velcroed to the back of the...
So sorry it took me months to see this question and reply. This is the inside after I installed it. I’ve since removed the duct tape and filled the space with caulk. Still working great after 8 months.
I routinely make a 240 mile trip (one way; not a commute) and usually arrive with 9-17% left. I charge to 100% but wouldn’t want to do that daily. Depending on the day and weather, I agree with @jjrandorin that 280 may be pushing it. Since 280 miles is your round trip, I’d just try to get lunch...
Welcome to the family!
#1 - not as bad as it used to be but still check over your car. Mine was pretty good (March 2021 delivery). No worse than any other car I’ve ever bought.
#2 - I’ve done nothing to Protect mine. Have a few chips off the front but that is normal.
#3 - probably so. I...
Having a lot of fun entertaining kids with the new Live sentry mode where you can speak through the app. Each time someone comes down the driveway I flash the lights and do an eerie laugh. I’m sparing the little ones but everyone else is fair game! A few parents were doing double takes too.
Just got a call from the service guy, they have identified the issue. As a result of 2021.36, they disable the Amp if Sentry mode is on and then Amp doesn’t come back on. 2021.36.5 will address the bug. In meantime, turn off Sentry mode and it should fix it until the update comes down. I...
Call the Service Center, each may vary. In NC, i was able to write a personal check. I was warned if it bounced they would repo the car. Funny. Right, OK. this was in March of this year.
Mine is still doing it after the re-push of 2021.36 and sitting for a while. Reboot cleared it again. Now I’m noticing the AC drops to 66 and starts jetting cold air out when I put it in park. There is something really buggy with 2021.36. Regen worked fine this time.
I have the same issue but a reboot clears it. Also noticed that regen wasn’t working the same until the reboot completed. Scheduled service and they repushed 2021.36 to see if it fixes it. Haven’t been out to the car yet to see if that fixed it.
For me, it’s like sitting in a fish bowl. Just far too bright along with the white exterior and everyone can easily see into the car. others love it. it really comes down to personal preference.
At first, I was dead set on MSM with black interior. Then I saw the white with black in the showroom and immediately knew I’d prefer that setup on the chrome delete 2021s. so I bought white w/ black interior. Love it. The contrast really makes it pop. I could care less how many people are...
I prefer one and selected anti-glare. I can see the screen a little easier and it doesn’t really show the prints.
I use Spigen and it is impossible to mount it wrong. It costs more but perfect fit and no bubbles if you follow their instructions...
it really doesn’t take long, but…
Read the manual at least twice
Do not take your trip and attempt to navigate every setting on the display the next day, instead…
sit in your driveway the day you get it without moving and learn the display without moving (practice everything you think you need...
As the title says, if you are planning to order a spare from Modern Spare for your freshly minted Model 3, you should get a jump on it. I ordered on 6/2 and still do not have a ship date yet. Had I known of the delays, I would have ordered earlier and likely I would have ordered at the same...
I had the exact same thing happen today but with one slight wrinkle. My charge port door did not close automatically after supercharging. At a red light, I put the car in park tried to close it from the display (wouldn’t work) so I decided to head on over to the hotel and worry with it there...
They are held on with clips that can break. I had to move out of the way for a fire truck last Friday and the curb scraped on one side and busted my clips. My issue isn’t covered under warranty since it was my own fault. It is $325 to replace one side for those wondering. It’s a valuable...
The acceleration difference and the range for me. I drive from Charlotte to the coast at least every 4 weeks. It’s about 240 miles. I have an LR and left at 100% SOC and arrived with 22%. I can charge on-site so I charge to 90% until I leave and then move up to 97 to 100%. Left with 97% and...
I ordered these and have the front one installed in my 2021 M3. Fits perfect. Haven’t used the rear one yet but I have no reason to believe it wouldn’t fit. Happy with the purchase. Good quality.
I’d consider this if I were you. I did something similar to what you described with a CMC and NEMA 14-50. I’m happy with it since my daughter may need to use the 14-50 for their RV on occasion. Otherwise I would have spent less on a HPWC. Setup is below.
READ THE MANUAL, three times.
Practice the controls & settings and how to use them when parked. it was just too distracting my first week. As you get used to it, it is easy. Understand if you set audible warnings for your speed limit that your car will be beeping all the time if you regularly...
I did a 14-50 with a corded mobile connector in lieu of the High Performance Wall Connector so I can easily take the unit with me if I move. I do have experience around electrical wiring and did my setup myself but wanted the portability should I ever need it. I also wanted my daughter to be...
Anyone using Bugslide on their Model 3 to make bug removal easier? If so, any issues with your paint after using it? My brother swears by this stuff but I was concerned it could harm the water based paint.
Their website says it is a polymer based cleaner/polisher/detailer and that it is safe...
