    VREDESTEIN QUATRAC PRO

I'm at 35K miles on my Quatrac Pros and they are at 5/32". Will replace them before winter but I'm very happy with their durability.

Winter is coming. Best All-weather tire and rims for snow and mixed conditions?

I put them on within 30 miles of purchase, so I don’t have a direct basis for comparison. But I’m getting the expected range while driving (generally more Wh/mile than rated, but that can be the case for so many different reasons). The car is by no means quiet, but that was true on my test drive...

Winter is coming. Best All-weather tire and rims for snow and mixed conditions?

I sold them locally via Craigslist for $600 (took a week or two for a buyer to come along). Given that the Quatracs were $787 from Tire Rack plus installation, I feel like I got a fantastic upgrade for almost nothing.

Winter is coming. Best All-weather tire and rims for snow and mixed conditions?

Absolutely love the performance of the Vredestein Quatrac Pros I put on right after buying my Y last December. Drove ~10K New York / New England / Pennsylvania winter miles last winter and they were terrific. Now up to 19K and they have been great in all conditions (very good in wet).

Squeaking Noise from Model Y Rear?

I had a squeak coming from my rear headliner — though it sounded very different from your video (what I hear on your video sounds like a rattle to me, not a squeak). Tech applied some lubrication (I believe) and it is gone. It also was missing two clips which may have made the headliner assembly...

ACK! Forgot to change limit back to 80% after charging 100%!

Optiwatt is a great solution for this. I set calendar entries for any long trip where I'm going to need 90 or 95 percent, and otherwise have it set to 80%. There are still a few glitches in the way the software displays current and future charging, but the basic functionality has been spot on...

    Navigation not updating arrival time/estimate

Yep, same here. I pay pretty close attention to this so I think it is a bug introduced in the latest software update—it just started happening for me about 10 days ago (I've had my Y since December). It doesn't happen on every trip, but does seem to consistently happen on trips that start at a...

Model Y SR factory installed hitch bike rack recommendations

Yeah, that’s the thing—absent an official torque number or “vertical load” that is more than Tesla’s, I’m afraid the aftermarket option is actually not rated for any more load.

Model Y SR factory installed hitch bike rack recommendations

depends on the fenders—I have a Surly Cross Check built up with SKS fenders and with a few quick one-time adjustments my 1-UP works perfectly with it.

Model Y SR factory installed hitch bike rack recommendations

Very hard to imagine why this would be the case for "vertical load," a proxy for torque, which is (almost) entirely a matter of shear forces on the bolts, etc. I'm sure it's the same between the different variants of the Y.

Model Y SR factory installed hitch bike rack recommendations

For sure, and thanks for spelling this out. With 160 lbs total to load, I'm basically assuming that there is enough tolerance built into whatever calculation Tesla's engineers did from the actual torque numbers that I can get away with it — and I definitely am planning to load the bikes in order...

Model Y SR factory installed hitch bike rack recommendations

I just checked my on-screen owners manual (2021 Model Y) and it still says 160 lbs. I’m leaning toward believing that is correct and the Tesla Shop entry for the Tesla-labeled bike rack is taking a shortcut and subtracting the 40-lb weight of that rack before saying that total allowable load is...

    Inconsistent heat?

This is happening to me, exactly as you describe. It doesn't seem at all like the people who lose heat entirely—it's just a fluctuation of roughly 5ºF. For what it's worth I use the iOS app Tessie to track drives, and one of the items it tracks is cabin temperature; it reports a perfectly steady...

Tow Hitch - Tongue Weight Capacity

Unfortunately tongue weight (350 lbs) applies only to trailers — as the manual states, 160 lbs is the maximum for a bike rack. There have even been reports of Tesla employees saying that 160 is a mistake and it should be 120. Indeed, the Tesla Shop page for the Model X/Y Hitch Rack says...

    VREDESTEIN QUATRAC PRO

@Hayseed_MS I put mine on 20 miles after buying the car new, so I can't compare to other tires. A Better Route Planner claims to calibrate the wH/mile reference value for an individual vehicle, and it currently shows 315 wH/mile for my vehicle compared to its default reference value of 298...

    VREDESTEIN QUATRAC PRO

Yes, I agree. I'm at 4,000+ miles, including quite a bit of winter snow / slush / wet driving, and everything @omf24 says is my experience as well.

Supercharger - New Jersey Turnpike Rest Areas - Molly Pitcher & Joyce Kilmer

Had an intriguing experience at the Cranbury (SB) supercharger on Saturday evening. I plugged in our Model Y with about 25% and initially got up to 172kW, which then declined gradually to 120kW as you'd expect. While we were there the stands filled up until 6 of 8 were occupied. A Model 3 pulled...

Question about E-Z Pass green tag (NJ)

You are expected to install the tag, though for E-ZPass generally my understanding is that they will also process tolls based on your plate if the tag is not read. I’m not sure if they will apply the green discount in that case, however.

Question about E-Z Pass green tag (NJ)

I used the online customer service request feature (My Account > Service Request) last week and received email confirmation within about 36 hours that my tag had shipped. It hasn't actually arrived yet, however. Here's the text I submitted along with a copy of my registration: Dear E-ZPass...

19" Gemini [Mostly Winter] Tire Replacement - Vredestein Quatrac Pro?

I picked up my Y LR AWD on 14 December and had Quatrac Pros put on the next day (my brand-new Continentals are for sale if anyone wants a set!). I've driven 2,000 miles since then between Philadelphia and Massachusetts, including maybe 150 miles of mild snowy highway conditions and about 45...

    Tesla OEM Winter Mats

I just installed mine as well. The material was what I expected (WeatherTech has its pluses and minuses, I agree that it is pretty hard material, but I do like the look overall). I have the exact same issue with fit along the driver's side door edge and had the same thought about a potential fix...

    "Devon Service Plus"

A silly question, but I just placed an order for the tow package to be added to my Model Y and had to specify the service center for it to be shipped to. Most of them were simply (and clearly) identified in the list by city and state, but when looking for Devon what I found was "Devon Service...

Like New Model Y OEM Tires (Continental 255/45R19) (Philadelphia)

For sale: (4) Continental ProContact RX Grand Touring All-Season tires, 255/45R19 104W XL (ContiSilent) in like new condition — specifically driven-23-miles condition. I picked up my 2021 Model Y in Devon, PA, on Monday 14 December with 6 miles on the odometer, drove 17 miles to my local shop...

XPEL Wear & Tear Kit for Model Y

I'm intrigued by the rocker panel kit . . . how hard is this for someone who has never done PPF to install on their own?? I see the difficulty rating of 3 / 5 . . .

2021 Model Y Sideview Mirrors Limited Adjustability

I picked up last night (79XXX with auto-dimming mirrors). I'm 6'1" and can barely get the driver's side mirror in an acceptable position. It's maxed out and hitting a physical limit (even when pushing on it manually, which the delivery advisor tried) at the top and left. Passenger side seems...

A Better Route Planner (ABRP) Premium

ABRP does allow you to select a charger for a longer break (icon that represents this is a hamburger so it's definitely designed for meal stops :) ) — but doesn't have any way to select directly based on better food options nearby.

    2021 Model Y Delivery Checklist

I would personally not copy the entire contents of someone else's Medium post into my own forum post, but perhaps you are asking whether there are things not included on their list that should be checked upon delivery. In any case, note that the 14-50 adapter is not included with the mobile...
