Realistic sale price 2017 Model 3? 17k miles

Thanks for the replies. Thinking it's likely that I will just keep the car at this point and if not, as suggested sell private party rather than take Tesla's offer. I don't need a new car, it's just driving the Model 3 is more enjoyable *to me personally/opinion only* than the Model S, however...

Realistic sale price 2017 Model 3? 17k miles

Realistically, what would a fair price be for my 2017 Model 3 with 17 miles? White w/aero wheels VIN 0015XX Build date 2017 or 2018 (door sticker says 2018 build, registered as 2017) Long range RWD EAP and FSD enabled No dents or dings. Some road rash on wheels, as seems to be the case with...

Whats the most miles anyone has driven without having to take it in for service?

No tire rotation either. Funny you mention it though bc that is exactly what I thought after looking at the odometer an seeing 11k+ miles. Tires appear evenly worn w/lots of tread left.

Economic Study: If Model 3 was NOT for resale, did you purchase EAP?

Yes I (we) would buy a Tesla without EAP. Our Model S does not have it. My wife will not let me replace it another Model 3.

Any thoughts of the price of the model 3 going up if the steel/aluminum tariff goes thru?

Wrong. Here is exactly how things happened: 1.Wednesday: Markets are normal. 2. Thursday: a) tariffs announced b) mills announce no new orders will be accepted* for March 1st** c) mills announce all customers will be placed on allocation. d) prices rise There are only a handful of steel mills...

Any thoughts of the price of the model 3 going up if the steel/aluminum tariff goes thru?

FWIW, my small (25 employee) family business uses ~90,000 lbs of flat sheet galvanized .0356" steel a week. It is similar to what is used in the auto industry. The product we manufacture is ~80% steel. On Wednesday we purchased flat sheet at ~$27.00 sheet, on Thursday we paid ~$34.00 a sheet...

    Model 3 Software Updates

@smartypnz when did you get the update? My VIN is close to yours and on the restricted list, cant get updates until bugs with 2018.4.9 are resolved. If you got this recently, its a good sign for others. Will be especially appreciated by those experiencing the phone as key problems.

California AB 1745 -- "Clean Cars 2040 Act"

Just a quick note, bureaucracy is the slowest part of society to change and those changes are driven mostly by the size of the population. More population = more laws. Laws are a supply and demand of-sorts. If just 1 person lived alone in a state no laws would be necessary, add a second person...

    Phone as Key Issues

Problem here is that the issue is fixable as described, however, this is a temporary fix likely to return. Another temporary fix is switching to airplane mode and back out of it. Its also a faster than rebooting everything and Tesla says not to uninstall/reinstall the app in attempt to remedy...

    Model 3 - Key Fob yes/no?

That BMW fob is ridiculously large and bulky. Tesla's Model S fob weighs 24 grams - equal in weight to .53 cents worth of change - it is not a big bulky item. - Key card weighs 7 grams.

Model 3 is using Google map for turn-by-turn navigation

Yes you loose it. Made a trip from Folsom to Grover Springs last week, lost navigation for a good 30 minutes leaving the springs for the return trip. Only partial loss on the way there. Have made same trip with the Model S without loosing navigation.

Does Anyone Like Their Model S More Than Their Model 3?

Haha, yes my wife likes the Model S more than the Model 3 however she has only driven it (M3) a few times. After having trouble with the key card and phone as key, she gave up on it. My opinion, the Model S is a great car and I love the hell out of it, but Model 3 is more fun to drive.

    Phone as Key Issues

Perhaps solving this issue is as simple as Tesla creating a flat fob the size of a credit card. Then we would all be happy. That and we could once again unlatch our trunks with a click. Our Model S fobs are faily low mass and weight, so it seems possible.

Well, just guessing here but it's likely that he tested where it worked a few times before shooting the video. Either that or he was extremely lucky. As a note, we are a bit off topic. The issue is that our phones do not work as key fobs. That we have to use the key card because our phones will...

    Phone as Key Issues

Notice that 1. He had to move the wallet, it did not read it immediately. 2. The wallet was very thin. 3. The key card was placed either first or last so as to have an antenna near the wallet fabric, never between the other cards.

In 2 days it will be one month since taking delivery. Our issue happens at least once a day, usually several times a day. I use the card when my phone doesn't let me in. Why Tesla Will Fail

Some are taking this criticism too personally. Before attackig others please look at their profiles and past posts. Many of us want Tesla to succeed. Many of us have been around TMC for a while. Many of us own Tesla cars. Many of us own Tesla stock. We are not shills. We are not shorts. We are...

    Why Tesla Will Fail

I love LOVE Tesla but the service as become ridiculously bad. Basically, expect your problems to be "noted in your account" or "escalated", followed up by a generic phone call (person reading solutions from a screen) the next day. If the problem is not solved at this point it will be further...

Ready to configure but don't want leather

And. It. Is. Awesome! Leather is comfortable no doubt about it, but this material whatever-it-is is even more comfortable*. Very similar to leather but ever so slightly softer. Great stuff. In winter anyway, have not experienced it in summer yet.

Question for Owners of both S and 3

First off, take @DrReid up on the offer to check out his car. If possible meet somewhere where a Model S is present (supercharger, service center) seeing them side by side helps. Second, personal opinion only, the Model 3 is by far more fun to drive. Unless you travel extremely luggage-heavy...

    Model 3 - Key Fob yes/no?

Hot iron the Model S fob or melt the key card into a shape of Model 3. Bet they are close to the same bulk. Btw, I'm with you on loving the car - great to hear you are loving it as well - It is a great vehicle no doubt about it. But the waiting to unlock issue is a headache.

    Model 3 - Key Fob yes/no?

My wife won't drive it anymore either. She doesn't care for the key card (who does?) and the phone as key is too sketchy for her. Oh well. It's a pain but overall still a fun car to drive once it lets you in.

    Leather vs. synthetic

Not only softer, it has a cushy feel thats difficult to explain. Love these seats. Leaps and bounds better than leather that would already have began to show wear on the driver's side entry point ... also know as ingress?... Not a lawyer so pardon the technical wording.

Why so many Model 3 on eBay for close to cost?

Perhaps sellers have reservations for other Model 3s, selling their current one to move up (performance), more economical (SR (short range)) or get an AWD (D (dual motor)) version. Personally, my reservation is for the performance version. Not selling the LG (long range) yet, but could do it...

I got the exact same response more than a week ago, then a random phone call the next day from someone who first seemed to work in engineering but turned out to be from the solar side, just pulled over to the vehicle side 3 days prior. Interesting that you have one phone, two Tesla vehicles and are having issues too. Your problem might be slightly different. If your app is not switched to the Model 3 it will not work. Try leaving the app on Model 3 and use your fob for the Model S.

    Phone as Key Issues

Okay cool. Reading the thread it seemed to go from turning a key card into a fob (probably reliable) to using a smaller phone as a fob (probably unreliable). Just want to keep things clear. A small phone will not work as a fob any better than a large phone.

    Random package from Tesla?

I received a package a week ago, Tesla put the wrong shipping label on it. The order belonged to someone else. They wouldn't return emails or phone calls so it was sent back to them today. Seems they are a bit overwhelmed these days.

    Phone as Key Issues

I sincerely hope your problem is solved, but color me skeptical. I've 'solved' my issues 3 to 4 times only to have them return 2 days later. Happened again today, and once again on a rainy cold day. Beginning to think cold weather and rain is the culprit.

Three weeks and my biggest disapointment in the Model 3...

Respectfully disagree. I'm in the construction business and have driven various trucks as my primary vehicle for years (1989 to 2014) before switching to a car (Model S) in 2014 and now to a Model 3. There is absolutely no way the ride is like a truck unless there's a problem. Maybe your car...

    Phone as Key Issues

I thought the same thing until experiencing the frustration firsthand. The problem with the phone is that it is completely unreliable. The fob works without fail. Fumbling for the card when your phone can't connect on a relaxing, windless, 78 degree weekend day is not a big issue. Its another...
