    Salary sacrifice lease vs PCP

Yeah thats something I'd consider as well. I guess my question is more about buying as a private customer vs salary sacrifice rather than PCP specifically (I know I titled it wrong)

    Salary sacrifice lease vs PCP

Sorry, question that looks like it’s probably been asked to death but hopefully not the usual question(s). My M3LR goes back soon and I always planned on getting an MY after. Not bothered about waiting for the potential refresh, would rather have stalks, etc. So quotes from salary sacrifice...

[UK] 2024 Order to Delivery discussion

Anyone know if it’s possible to delay delivery or rather order in advance? I want to take advantage of the low APR on the MY but my M3 lease doesn’t end for a few more months. Lease company say they can order 6 months in advance but they can’t offer anything close to Tesla’s offer.

Tesla service & maintenance: the biggest difference with legacy car makers?

I guess the main difference is most dealers are part of franchised groups where as Tesla can manage it all centrally, which makes things more efficient. The whole experience has improved massively though, it certainly wasn't as good and efficient when I first got my car almost 4 years ago -...

    Hows your adaptive high beam?

Do the adaptive lights work in dipped beam? I had a loaner the other day (my car is too old) and I'm sure I could see them moving around. That or the lights needed adjusting, definitely not ruling that out :D

    V11 - what’s your verdict?

You're right, I noticed the auto-wipers were pretty poor when I first test drove an M3 nearly 2 years ago now. I vaguely remember around that time people talking about them being vastly improved by a software update. I've had my car since October 2021 and they haven't improved - in the day...

Tesla service text saying "lock your key inside your vehicle using your app"

They usually always ask me for the card and PIN, except for maybe once or twice. They also seem to ask for the PIN when sat in the waiting area with plenty of other people around which they shouldn't do really. They've also changed the PIN a few times and told me that it will revert back when I...

    iPhone/Apple Watch & Tesla

The only time I have this issue is when the car doesn't have signal so it won't wake up. What happens if you go into the Tesla app when it fails?

    Service centre courtesy car

I was given an old blue Model S from there a few months back. I was surprised at how dirty it was inside, not very pleasant at all.

    Agile plunge pricing predictions

I switched from Agile to Go the other day, had the "technical issue" error when trying to accept the T&Cs - a quick message to them on Twitter and it was sorted out the following day and came into effect at midnight.

    Octopus Smart Meter Experiences

I find the whole smart meter process very odd. When the Octopus engineer was here the other month, I was chatting to him and he was from about 10 miles away yet it took a number of escalations before I could get an appointment. As I didn't switch my gas they wouldn't install a new gas meter so...

    Agile plunge pricing predictions

I decided to switch to Go a few days ago which will probably work out better for me. Mainly because I have no mobile signal in the garage and struggle to wake the car up, so on Go I can turn on scheduled charging at 00:30 in the car and use ev.energy to stop at 4:30. Might be an issue in the...

One week of ownership, opinion. M3LR

It's a shame you can't customise the right scroller on the steering wheel (like I believe you can on the Model S?), I only really touch the screen whilst driving to adjust the temperature but I still find it takes a bit of concentration to get my fat fingers to hit the arrows.

Dangerous Reversing in Low Light M3

I haven't tried it myself but would turning on the rear fog light help to provide a bit more ambient light?

    Octopus Smart Meter Experiences

Finally getting my smart meter replaced this week through Octopus. Does anyone know if they will replace my gas meter too which also hasn't been commissioned even though I didn't switch my gas to Octopus?

    Smart meter "not commissioned"

So I've had a response from Octopus who have now said they need to swap out the smart meter but they have no appointments in my area in the upcoming months. I guess it makes more sense to switch to a different supplier with a cheaper flat tariff and wait for the new supplier to switch the meters...

    Smart meter "not commissioned"

Interesting, it does sound like it might be a similar issue. My gas and electric meters are both smart but I only switched my electric to Octopus - I've had to supply manual meter readings for all 3 of my suppliers so far and at one point I was struggling to manually submit them as it was saying...

    Smart meter "not commissioned"

Hi guys Just wondering if anyone has experienced this before? We moved into a new build at the start of the year and it already had SMETS2 smart meters fitted and our original supplier was British Gas, we were only with them for a few weeks before switching and recently I've switched to...

    Octopus Agile

Getting frustrated with Octopus myself, on Monday I will have switched a month ago and they still can't seem to connect to my smart meter - "Your smart meter is installed, and we're working on connecting to it. Sit tight, as this can take up to two weeks." OK so it's only 2 weeks longer than it...

    Things I worry about

I agree with this. I didn't have matrix LED on my C Class but the auto high-beams (and auto wipers) worked flawlessly for me. However, apart from the auto high-beams, I find the headlights better on the Model 3 than my C Class - the C Class seemed to point a bit too low and didn't light up the...

Key card not needed by Tesla SC

Mine went in last week and they needed the key card and my P2D, as well as telling me to take it out of valet mode. I collected my car at the end of September.

    Home Delivery

I was told mine was being delivered by the lease company but I did have to collect it in the end. I would've preferred collecting it for the same reasons as you, OP. However, I don't think it actually makes any difference - I had a few scratches and the minor ones were polished out there and...

Paying for investigation into warranty issue?

Hi guys, So I picked up my car about 6 weeks ago now and on the day of collection I booked a service appointment to have some paint issues rectified. A couple of weeks ago I text the service number and said there was also a rattle coming from the rear passenger side of the car and could they...

    UMC charging only

I've been using the 3 pin since I took delivery about a month ago. I've only used it a handful of times, usually going from 50/60% back up to 80% - if left overnight it's perfectly fine for current circumstances and I could've got away with using it a lot less. I'm waiting for my wall charger to...

    M3 Refresh

The double paned glass, heated steering wheel and electric boot would be great - bit of a bummer when you've taken delivery within the last month or two. Hoping the performance upgrade comes OTA to existing owners at least.
  27. T

Is anyone completely happy with their M3?

Generally very happy with the car, although still adjusting to it and it's 'quirks'. I must admit I do miss some physical buttons but I think it's just a matter of getting used to it.

    Yet another rejection story (Leeds)

I do wonder if these rejected cars just get added straight into the inventory with no work being carried out on them and hope the next person doesn’t kick up a fuss. I dread the day I get an issue with mine because the attitude of some guys at the SC when I collected mine was pretty poor. I...

    Way points are coming!!

One thing I miss from my Mercedes is the wide-angle reversing camera - I found it really useful for reversing off of driveways or reversing out of a parking space. I'm sure it could be done with a software update as in the Mercedes it looked like 3 images stitched together so it wasn't great...

How many of us know we've been matched but don't have a collection date?

If you guys haven't already, you should ring the delivery line and ask for updates - I've not received a single text or email from Tesla or the lease company giving me information. I've had to ring and ask for everything despite them telling me I'd be receiving texts, including one today which...

    PodPoint reviews

Yeah I already have some sort of corrugated conduit going under the patio and lawn which takes the supply to the garage, the quote I’ve got is on the basis that the new cable will fit through what’s already there. I just wanted to get a quote on the site but it didn’t seem possible without...

    PodPoint reviews

The Pod Point site says £559 for the tethered 7kW solo, does the actual price vary much? I got a quote from a local company who quoted considerably more but I'm not sure if it's because I'm asking for something 'non-standard' i.e. instead of having it on the side of the house next to the meter...

How many of us know we've been matched but don't have a collection date?

I've been matched, car arrived in the UK last week (on RCC Asia), don't have a reg but I was told over the phone its "looking like" a week tomorrow for collection. I'm expecting a text tomorrow to confirm collection date and the reg. I'm collecting from Birmingham and I asked if there was any...

    "Young" Tesla drivers

I’ve just turned 28 so I don’t know if I still class as being young :D I was considering switching to a 330e through my company's car scheme but realised the M3 wasn't too much more and the savings in petrol would make the costs similar, or at least thats how I justified it to myself. I don't...

    2019/20 Orders and Deliveries [closed]

Mines on a lease and I was told by the leasing company and Tesla previously that it would be delivered. This morning Tesla told me I'd have to collect it, so I'm not sure what's happening. I don't mind collecting as I'm not too far from the SC but like the whole process so far, shrouded by...

    2019/20 Orders and Deliveries [closed]

I was told Thursday the car was in Zeebrugge so it should've been in the UK on Friday morning. Received a collection date of this morning for 2 weeks time so if the turnaround is 2 weeks from arrival in the UK to collection there cant be many more cars they can deliver before the end of the month?

    Model 3 Leasing UK

Spoke to Tesla yesterday who said my car was at Zeebrugge, which means it should’ve arrived in the U.K. this morning but they couldn’t give me a delivery date, except that it would be September. Emailed the lease company this morning to find out if they had anymore information but no reply. A...

    2020 Shipping Movements

Thanks for all the useful info in this thread! I spoke to Tesla earlier today and was told my car was in Zeebrugge, I presume that means it’s on the RCC Asia and hitting the U.K. tomorrow morning? They still couldn’t say anything about the delivery date except that it would be in September...

    Model 3 Leasing UK

For those who are leasing through a salary sacrifice scheme, does your employer need to fill in a form for the EV charger grant? I spoke to an installer today who said it would be needed, whilst I’m sure my employer won’t have an issue doing it, I’m just not sure who to contact about it.

    Model 3 Leasing UK

It's a bit annoying cus it hasn't actually been 14 days for me so I'm not sure why they even delayed ordering. I don't know what the repercussions for them are if they order and then I cancel but I assume it would be the same now as it would've been a week ago. I've ordered a Midnight Silver LR...

    Model 3 Leasing UK

I also spoke to Tesla and my order was only placed this morning, I was expecting it to be ordered late last week/early this week so a bit disappointing. They did tell me it hasn't been matched yet but hinted that was because it was only ordered today but typical lead time is 12 weeks. :(

    Model 3 Leasing UK

Hi guys, I've just returned all the signed paperwork to the lease company and told the car has been ordered (although they asked for my referral code last week). Will I receive any updates directly from Tesla or does it all go through the lease company?

    Test drive completed...not sure...

I was underwhelmed after my first test drive in an SR+, for an expensive car it did seem to be slightly lower quality than those of similarly or even lower priced German rivals. It was also a bit rattle-y but then so is my C Class. I had a second test drive yesterday in a Performance and it was...

    Can someone persuade me?

Thanks for the replies everyone! I guess it will just be a change of mindset i.e. not treating like a petrol car and running it until empty but trying to charge wherever and whenever possible. I have checked on Zap-Map for my local town which is only a few miles away and my office, despite only...

    Can someone persuade me?

Hey guys So I test drove a M3 a good few months ago now as my employer recently signed up to a salary sacrifice car scheme and the M3 was one of the best EVs for the price. The idea kinda fell away as we were moving house, lockdown came in, etc. so I'm back looking again now and seriously...

    Build quality

How do people find their M3s in term of buzzing/rattling/creaking? The one I test drove had a few rattles and buzzes and it was only a few months old. It's something I can't stand - I "rejected" my previous Mercedes because of it and my current Mercedes has also been in a few times to have them...

    Insurance New Vehicle [2020 Megathread]

Direct Line wouldn't even quote me on a M3 SR+, yet Churchill were the cheapest on the usual comparison sites, part of the Direct Line Group... But when I've gotten new cars in the past, I've got the quote online using the make and model, then called up and gave them the reg with no issues.

    Model 3 Leasing UK

Cheers - I spoke to the leasing company who did confirm it would be 0% BIK and even if I ordered today it wouldn't arrive until gone July anyway. The only issue is their insurer wouldn't insure me and after getting some quotes back, I'm looking at £1.3k a year
