Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
Yep, double scroll wheel to the rescue! I couldn't download 2023.6.9 and the car couldn't find my network.
Network found and update downloading........
I have been wondering the same thing but from a low milage driver. I have received 10K Supercharging miles and only put 6K on my 2020 Chevy Bolt in three years. Granted, that was during the pandemic but my plan has been to "top up" weekly at the Supercharger and top up at home once in awhile...
One might assume that the Tax credits were aimed at those that actually NEEDED an incentive to be able to afford a new Tesla vehicle. As to why or how Tesla chose to offer the incentives, I'm guessing cancelled orders. In my case (lease) there was no guarantee that the tax credit would be...
I just ordered my first bifocals specifically for driving BUT, when I tried them on, the "reading distance" was far
too close to my head to be helpful reading the screen. The gentleman took them back and is going to change
the lenses. We'll see how this adjustment works out.
Now the price is $350 which is really tempting BUT my 12 year old (purchased it for my first Volt)
EVSE is working just fine with my new Model 3.
I picked up my Model 3 on the 19th and I'm not seeing any supercharger credits yet. I was told that it may take a few days to show up......... SURE HOPE SO!
Long time lurker here as I drove 4 Chevy electric vehicles. That ended this month with the discount and actually having vehicles in stock! Model 3 rear wheel delivery date 12/20......
I have to update, Tesla just notified me that they are actually coming out to
install my pest abatement!! I had thought that it was a dead issue........
I ordered it here in central Florida & on the day of the install they
didn't have it. They said that they hadn't had any in stock for over
a year. Then they sent a new billing that removed the charge for
the "pest abatement". Obviously they didn't want to be bothered!!
As we went into "Storm Watch" (central Florida) I noticed that the Powerwalls
were running down to 98% and staying there. Twice I reverted off of storm watch
& switched to self power just to get the batteries back up to 100%. Luckily the
storm passed and I showed a power outage of 10...
Every recent hurricane my GF, her mom & daughter with me run to the center of the state. Each time
the damage is minimal (screens and shrubs) and I promise myself I will stay next time. I stayed for one
over a decade ago and fell asleep as it hit just south of us. Slept like a baby!!
I had an AC (rotary) with an LRA of 58 and they wouldn't OK a whole house
install. I ended up spending 9K for a new scroll unit with an LRA of 55.2 before Tesla's
tech team would OK the full house install.
It's the LRA that is important. I have 2 Powerwalls & the LRA (one unit) had to be 56 or less.
Also MUST be scroll compressor. With 3 Powerwalls the LRA can be higher but scroll is a must!
I am in my first 2 weeks of operation & haven't even gotten a bill yet after permission
to operate..
I am not on any TOU plan and I am just charging when I feel like it.
I travel very little ( 8K per year) Generally I would charge during daylight
hours just to feel like I'm using the solar...
All these decades waiting for battery tech to be able to provide decent backup.
I sure wish that the US had kept on going with Carter's initiatives back in the
day!!
I have a Chevy Bolt and charging is a big draw. No problem as long as the grid is up. If
we had a prolonged outage (hurricane) I would look for a public charger that was still
operational. I could also lower the amps to charge the car.
I got this email yesterday... so far so good.
The odd thing is that I asked the installers how I could tell when the meter was changed out?
The answer was that the new meter would be sealed with green tags.
A week or more ago I found that the tags on the meter had changed to
green tags. To...
When the grid goes off my inverter resets so no solar for 5 minutes and the PWs
were at 75%. When the solar came back on a bank of clouds had moved in.......
OK, I did an off grid test for about 30 minutes & lowered the thermostat.
The AC cycled perfectly and even my UPS units seemed to forgive the
interruption. They both signaled the loss of power but then turned off as
the Powerwall replaced grid power.
That is what they did and your hint at being closest to the meter helped. They ran
out of the meter to the back of the Gateway & installed a 150 breaker. We did a 27 minute
off grid test but I became paranoid that my AC compressor might not have tried to kick in
during that 27 minutes.
That would be the breaker inside the Gateway? I tried the main breaker in what used to be the
main box and that removed all of the loads. The only other is the one inside the Gateway.
Got the answer Yes.. the breaker INSIDE the gateway!!
The battery is powering the house & the AC...
Maybe I'm not doing it right?
I am switching off the breaker marked "main" and when I do I lose both the inverter & the powerwalls.
Which leads to me pulling energy from the grid.
This test I did with the Powerwalls at 65% and solar producing 4.8kw.
Granted, I haven't gotten my PTO yet but this doesn't seem right. This morning we
had a momentary outage which registered on my UPSs. What the system does is
turn off the inverter and no power is coming from the solar or the batteries. The batteries
were at 24% and the solar was producing...
