I think you might find that if the manufacturer alters the algorithm simply to deactivate non-OEM parts, it will be deemed illegal/unfair practice. You're mixing apples and oranges. The "coincidence" of a non-oem product no longer working after the manufacturer does an 'update' doesn't need to...
