It's called an "in lieu of dividend". Interestingly, The person who lent the shares (who receives the "in lieu of") has to pay regular income taxes on that "dividend". The person to whom the shares were shorted gets to pay the dividend tax , because they are in possession of those shares at the...
I have given up trying to read every post but, it seems to me that the "firing" of 500 SC workers is nothing more than an evolution from an employee-based workforce to local contractors- based workforce. Just another lowering of COGS and other operational costs. All good.
1.Fear of change.
2.Brand loyalty.
3.Ignorance of Tesla technological superiority
4.Hate for Elon based on MSM false narrative.
5.Lack of interest in learning the unknown.
This confusion allowed the MSM to count ALL of the vehicles BYD produced in their comparison to Tesla. I.e. all vehicles include hybrids (which account for 1/2 of the NEVs), forklifts , buses, etc. Of course Tesla "took back the lead" in BEVs. They never lost it.
What is it with "New Energy Vehicles".? If you read BYD's breakdown of their various electric vehicles, I infer that NEVs are actually PHEVs. It's possible that NEVs are being counted as BEVs when necessary to create confusion? FUD.
I believe BYD does not break anything out. I.e., BEV, NEV(plug-in hybrids,) Buses, forklifts etc., are all lumped together. If they are price competitive with Tesla on BEV, I'll bet the remainder of their offerings are subsidizing them to do so.

TIA.
Barron's has definitely ascended to the top of the Fudster roster. Their POV clearly demonstrates the difference between ignorance and stupidity, while having a significant component of both. Laughable.
I don't have the article handy, but I read that Hertz is having its largest problem with Polestar cars. They had a 100,000 car contract with Polestar. Hertz has recently asked to be relieved of the remainder of their obligation to purchase. I think when it gets down to it, there are more...
